US threatens India with sanctions over Iranian Oil

India only follows sanctions made by united nations not any individual country till that happen no country can stop us from having a bilateral relationship with Iran

India is no Iran nor the same country it was a decade or more ago. The US will never be able to sell this to the US people or policy makers- shutting of a major new market out as the US seeks to gain momentum in its faltering economy is a big NO NO. Not to mention India is a non-permanent member of the UNSC and a member of G20 and G8+2. The soft power India wields is considerable and perhaps only second to US, there is just very little likelihood US could do so without enraging much of the world and her own people. There is just no way the US will want to permantly lose such a powerful ally not in these changing times just as US-India ties are on the up and up.

The fact is India has said it will comply with any UN sanction and any attempt for US to sanction India would be both highly illegal but also immoral.

If US passes sanctions against India, it's going to cripple the Indian economy, markets will suffer, imports will suffer, American companies and any investment they have in India will likely too suffer.

India has by June 28 to comply and obey US demand, otherwise face the consequences.

No, the US sanctions if imposed will ban any Indian bank which makes payments for oil with Iranian banks from access to services provided by US banks. Indian banks do process oil payments with Iranian banks so this could potentially hurt the Indian banking industry.

India being one of the biggest importers of oil from Iran will feel the pain, are you that stupid you think the US is going to pass sanctions that will do nothing effective? They know what they are doing.

The bank was intentionally selected to be that way.LOL. They know what they are doing and even we know what we are doing.

BTW Indian construction companies are also indulged in infra development works in Iran and a part of our payments are made that way too.
