US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson has said that America wants to help Pakistan to overcome its energy crisis.

He said that they had clear a policy regarding Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project.

Pakistan and Iran have recently signed an agreement in Islamabad to complete the project while President Asif Ali Zardari has also paid a visit to the neighbouring country last week to discuss the pipeline and to extend relationships with Iranian leadership.

“We have a clear policy over Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline,” Olson said, addressing a gathering during his visit to Tarbela Dam on Tuesday.

He said that the US was in favour of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, adding that it would also continue to help the country to reduce the energy crisis.

American’s State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell while commenting over the project on Wednesday said it is in Pakistan’s best interest to avoid any santionable activity.

Pakistan is facing a severe energy crisis which has damaged its industrial setup specially the textile industry.

“We will help Pakistan to complete Gomal Zam and Sadpara dams,” he said and added that the US wanted the Pakistanis to spend a better life.

He said that US funding in different energy projects would provide employment to thousands of Pakistanis.

To hell with the US. We want Pakistan to develop & the only way Pakistan can develop is without US influence.

No more US, Pak Army is very tired of US foolishness & madness, they want US to leave the region ASAP & they don't want US interfering in Pakistan's internal matters at all.

i think Pakistan is going down from all side .........is direct panga with USA .........sanctions will kill Pakistan .

U.S. diplomacy has failed. If the U.S. contributed towards Pakistan energy by allowing access to key nuclear technology for energy purposes, Pakistan wouldn't have to turn to Iran. Iran currently is the only feasible choice for Pakistan energy needs.

Getting nuclear technology from USA is going to be nearly impossible for Pakistan, even if the IP pipeline is used as a potential pressuring tactic.

It doesn't matter what US thinks or supports! The IP pipeline is getting build now! No one can stop it now!

It would be foolish for us to ignore what USA thinks or supports, since it is always wise to keep an eye on the influential players on the global stage. Once the pipeline is built, if and when it is, then we will have to deal with the US response, and therefore we would do well to keep in mind what USA thinks or supports.

We know nothing about feasibility... yet!

Do you know the details of deal?

Salaam to all the Muslims,

If the Americans were sincere, they would had help end Pakistan's energy shortage long ago. I mean they had at least 12 years to help out, but no.

Instead they stabbed Pakistan in back and gave the nuclear deal to India only.

As United States has been reduced to the third largest trade partner of Pakistan in the last 5 years, expect more objections from the Americans in everything that will increase Pakistan's trade within Asia.

Pakistan's total trade 2011-2012: $65 Billion
Pakistan's GDP (nominal) 2011-2012: $230 Billion

Salaam to all the Muslims.

That is the case, Since Pakistan supported WOT, US has failed to add anything significant in the development of Pakistan, especially in energy sector.Though i still doubt about the completion of IP pipeline as scheduled.

whats wrong with tapi???

They say TAP is cheap gas!

IMO, Pakistan shall use this opportunity to pull US into this gas deal.

Otherwise... pipe line pipe line hoti hay TAP ho ya IP..

Please, do not add I in the end.. because we are working for it not Indians, we risk sanctions not Indians.
