US Stealth UAV RQ-170 downed in IRAN

I know that bot. I helped design initial prototypes. He's one of those early models, the bot-o-matic 2001, it's was a faulty model, however, as you can see. It's spewing zionist propaganda is not what it was designed for, and it's just a common fault in the model's design. I apologize for the inconvenience , brothers.

No worry, dear. It is a shame that it has gone Zionist instead of becoming something like Wall-E and do something useful. I guess this bot was reading too much western news. Anyways you should include some fail safe in your bot so that when it becomes a Zombie after reading too much in western media, it does not go mad. Just a friendly suggestion.

A super interesting thing I just found on Google:

It appears just months ago, a virus had penetrated into drone control systems of US Airforce and was doing something that Americans were not understanding and could not remove the virus either. Then US Air force brought in Darpa the supreme scientific body of US in order to see what the virus was doing. Darpa was working on it until Iran finally took home the most sophisticated drone of US Air force. It appears Iranians beat Darpa in electronic warfare. Maybe Iranians have taken revenge for Stuxnet. Boy, we are in cyberwarfare age. Forget science fiction, this is real.

Boy, I still can not believe Iranian scientists have pulled this one. It is just too big. Too high tech. Did they really do this schit?

I had a lazy worker who didn't connect the plug that expelled the horrific western news programs and propaganda machines. I'm working on another bot, correctly wired mind you, that speaks the truth about the West and Zionists.

The Fars news agency, which has close ties to the Revolutionary Guards responsible for Iran's air defence and ballistic missile systems, said the drone had made an incursion into Iran's eastern airspace.

"Our air defence and electronic warfare units managed to identify and shoot down an advanced unmanned spy aircraft - an RQ-170 - after it briefly violated the eastern border territory," Fars said.

Quoting an unnamed military source, Fars said the drone "was downed with slight damage."

"It is now under the control of our forces."

U.S. official says no sign Iran shot down drone

(Reuters) - Iranian media reported on Sunday that their country's military had shot down a U.S. reconnaissance drone in eastern Iran, but a U.S. official said there was no indication the aircraft had been shot down.

NATO's U.S.-led mission in neighbouring Afghanistan said the Iranian report could refer to an unarmed U.S. spy drone that went missing there last week.

The incident comes at a time when Tehran is trying to contain foreign outrage at the storming of the British embassy on Tuesday, after London announced sanctions on Iran's central bank in connection with Iran's nuclear enrichment programme.

Iran has announced several times in the past that it shot down U.S., Israeli or British drones, in incidents that did not provoke high-profile responses.

"Iran's military has downed an intruding RQ-170 American drone in eastern Iran," Iran's Arabic-language Al Alam state television network quoted a military source as saying.

"The spy drone, which has been downed with little damage, was seized by the Iranian armed forces," the source said. "The Iranian military's response to the American spy drone's violation of our airspace will not be limited to Iran's borders."

Iranian officials were not available to comment further.

NATO's International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan said in a statement: "The UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) to which the Iranians are referring may be a U.S. unarmed reconnaissance aircraft that had been flying a mission over western Afghanistan late last week.

"The operators of the UAV lost control of the aircraft and had been working to determine its status."

A U.S. official, who asked not to be named, said: "There is absolutely no indication up to this point that Iranians shot down this drone."

ISOLATION

Tuesday's storming of the British embassy attracted swift condemnation from around the world, further isolating Iran.

Britain evacuated its diplomatic staff from Tehran and expelled Iranian diplomats from London in retaliation. Several other EU members like Germany, France and Spain also recalled their ambassadors from Tehran.

The United States and Israel have not ruled out military action against Iran's nuclear facilities if diplomacy fails to resolve a dispute over a programme they suspect is aimed at developing atomic weapons. Iran says it would respond to any strike by attacking Israel and U.S. interests in the Gulf.

In January Iran said it shot down two unmanned Western reconnaissance drones in the Gulf. In July Iran said it had shot down an unmanned U.S. spy plane over the holy city of Qom, near its Fordu nuclear site.

Western nations on Thursday significantly tightened sanctions against Iran, with the European Union expanding an Iranian blacklist and the U.S. Senate passing a measure that could severely disrupt Iran's oil income.

Iran warned the West on Sunday any move to block its oil exports would more than double crude prices with devastating consequences on a fragile global economy.

"As soon as such an issue is raised seriously the oil price would soar to above $250 a barrel," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told the Sharq newspaper.

So far neither Washington nor Brussels has finalised a move against Iran's oil trade or its central bank. Crude prices were pushed up over the British embassy storming with ICE Brent January crude up 95 cents on Friday to settle at $109.94 a barrel.

Kuch Sharam kero BEGHAIRTO (Pakistani Leaders & Generals) ... A country with so many sanctions and virtually whole world against it is hacking into the most advanced weapons and we can't even get our radars and communication systems to work at time of need despite billions of dollar aid ... Hadh hoti hai besharmi ki bhi ...

It means you have been lying all this time. It means you are a liar. Also this drone is no ordinary drone, it is the most advanced airplane on planet earth. This is now a historical victory. The first time a flying plane has been hacked. I am sure the technology Iran has developed will be now much sought in Russia and China.

Russian air defense has never claimed to hack into super stealth drones. So I guess every one including Russians must be surprised at this news.

Whose been lying about what? If you're talking about disputing whether a drone was actually brought down by Iran, that point is still in doubt, and not without good reason.

Iran's media has a history of unsubstantiated, false, and misrepresented claims both in technological development and shooting down drones.

the RQ-170 may have been downed, but I also pointed out it may not. NATO is gathering the information it has, and there is info that contact was lost earlier this week in Western Afghanistan
with a drone whose model is unknown.

Rather you are sucking down unsubstantiated reports that source from state media with a media history close to that of the national enquirer.

It is quite rational to assume it is false until proven with non-photoshopped photos, videos, or confirmed evidence from NATO command (whove shown they aren't shy of reporting if they've lost drones)

In anycase the end to all this discussion is photos or videos. Iran should be dying to put photos or videos up to showcase its victory and end all dispute. Lets see it.

To the rest, no matter how advanced, it is the system as a whole that matters, not the parts. This plane is only one part of a spectrum of recon tools including satellites, human spies, and small spacecraft (X-37B) electronic monitoring, etc.

U.S denies Iran's claim it shot down an American drone

A U.S. official on Sunday denied an Iranian claim that a US reconnaissance drone aircraft was shot down in eastern Iran. An unnamed U.S offical said nothing indicated to Washington that a drone that had crashed in Iran had actually been shot down.

Digital Journal had reported the story which said the RQ-170 American drone was brought down following a joint action by Iran's army, air defense forces and its electronic warfare unit. The drone was reported to have "briefly" violated the country's airspace at the eastern borders.

A U.S official however told NBC News: "There is absolutely no indication up to this point that Iranians shot down this drone."

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan reacted to the Iranian claim a little differently.

"The UAV to which the Iranians are referring may be a U.S. unarmed reconnaissance aircraft that had been flying a mission over western Afghanistan late last week," NPR quoted the Force as saying in a statement. "The operators of the UAV lost control of the aircraft and had been working to determine its status."

He-said she-said. Fact is, it is down and in their custody so Iran can claim a 'kill'.

Its also becoming a trend for the US to blame anything negative on "Oops our officer made a booboo, we killed 24 people, oops we crashed plane".

Iran says it downed U.S. stealth drone; Pentagon acknowledges aircraft downing - The Washington Post

By Greg Jaffe and Thomas Erdbrink, Monday, December 5, 1:53 AM

A secret U.S. surveillance drone that went missing last week in western Afghanistan appears to have crashed in Iran, in what may be the first case of such an aircraft ending up in the hands of an adversary.

Iran’s news agencies asserted that the nation’s defense forces brought down the drone, which the Iranian reports said was an RQ-170 stealth aircraft. It is designed to penetrate enemy air defenses that could see and possibly shoot down less-sophisticated Predator and Reaper drones.

A stealthy RQ-170 drone played a critical role in surveilling the compound in Pakistan where Osama bin Laden was hiding in the months before the raid in which he was killed by U.S. Navy SEALs in May.

U.S. officials acknowledged Sunday that a drone had been lost near the Iranian border, but they declined to say what kind of aircraft was missing.

The Iranian government has not released any pictures of the recovered aircraft, which they said was downed by defense forces after it flew across the border and into the country’s airspace. An unnamed Iranian defense official said in one report that a cyber*attack caused the drone to crash.

U.S. officials cast doubt on this and other Iranian assertions. “We have no indication that it was brought down by hostile fire,” said a senior Pentagon official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive surveillance activity.

If an RQ-170 drone crashed in Iran, it would mark a significant setback for the U.S. military. The United States has lost less-sophisticated unmanned aircraft in recent years over Iran, but a nearly intact RQ-170 could offer a potential windfall of useful intelligence for the Iranians and their allies.

The aircraft has special coatings and a batwing-like shape that is designed to evade detection by enemy radar. The aircraft could help the Iranians better understand the vulnerabilities of U.S. stealth technology and provide them with clues on how to spot other aircraft, U.S. officials said.

Similar stealth technology is used in U.S. B-2 bombers and is a major feature of the military’s F-35 fighter jet, which is one of the largest and most expensive weapons programs in Pentagon history.

The first reports of the drone crash came from Iran’s semiofficial Fars News Agency. “Iran’s army has downed an intruding RQ-170 American drone in eastern Iran,” the Arabic-language al-Alam state television network quoted an unnamed source as saying. “The spy drone, which has been downed with little damage, was seized by the armed forces.”

Hours after the incident, Iranian state TV news was showing only stock pictures of RQ-170 stealth drones, not images from the crash. An unnamed military official told the Fars News Agency that Iran’s response “will not be limited to the country’s borders.”

The U.S. military released a short statement later Sunday on the missing drone. “The [unmanned aerial vehicle] to which the Iranians are referring may be a U.S. unarmed reconnaissance aircraft that had been flying a mission over western Afghanistan late last week,” it said. “The operators of the UAV lost control of the aircraft and had been working to determine its status.”
