US proposes $2.4 billion aid to Pakistan

Pakistan should strictly ask for compensation for it's services and not for Aid, since it gives the wrong meaning. At least $5 billion considering it's size. US is just trying to maintain this relationship to make ends meet in Afghanistan at minimum cost. If there was more trust perhaps the US would need to spend less in Afghanistan and would have agreed to transfer some of the benefit to Pakistan by providing them some gifts.
IMO Osama getting busted inside Pakistan was the biggest lost opportunity for Pak.

The govt and military would fill their pockets aid or no aid.
Face it without aid the GOP budget would be in shambles.
Tax collections are $16bn
Aid from US both military and non military is around $6bn
Budget is $27bn

So without aid GOP would be bankcrupt.

Both Pakistani Military and civilian leaders will whip up sentiments on TV channels and public rallies and oppose receiving any aid from USA but in the back door will be queuing up to receive the same.If Pakistan has not asked for the money why would USA be allocating any aid in the first place.
