Well the US and Europe have already maximized sanctions on Russia. They cannot use that card anymore, it has been used up and discarded. This tool is no longer available to the West anymore since they played it fully and the negative effects on Russia already suffered by the Russians for some years now.

It's no good to say if someone doesn't agree with opinions and using his own opinions I should attack the whole country with "I know why members from country X are always banned". This is a cheap cop out nothing. You are all just stating your own dumbass opinions but at least the pro-Russian ones are founded in reality why? because USA been sanctioning Russia 100% since Crimea! How can they sanction Russia with >100% capacity?

Anyway as for the actual topic, Russia is no being that aggressive actually. I disagree with Beidou's opinion that Russia is using this time to invade Ukraine. It is an option but they do not seem that interested beyond defending their Ukrainian interests. Ukraine wants Russia out of the Donbass area and out of Ukrainian politics. NATO and USA are just there to **** with Russia. Not to rescue humanity and save freedom. They don't care about such things.

Unfortunately Ukrainian and Russian brothers are fighting. This is politics and some influence from the devil to incite fighting. Russia also standing ground here and refusing to allow Ukraine to eventually become a Poland or Lithuania by becoming Western influenced, NATO members maybe, and most damaging beyond political hatred of Russia, hosting NATO military force and offensive and defensive missiles. That is unacceptable to Russia and Russia's influence is unacceptable to the current Ukrainian political class.

I estimate Ukraine's red line for Russia is if Russia invades the non-Russian areas. Russia's red line for Ukraine is if Ukraine host NATO on its soil in large volume or sensitive equipment for example ABM systems or NATO offensive weapons that can reach into Russia. Also if Ukrainian forces attack and take over land Russia considers to be Russian ethnic ones.

So Ukraine faced against giant Russia is smart to not be too quick in movement and not ferocious in the intensity of any military fighting that was in the past. It would simply invite greater force applied from Russia's direction. Russia can apply much more force than Ukraine can so Ukraine is talking to NATO and that group is working out some strategy.

Russia is aware of these changes where Ukraine have lowered the intensity and actively discussing strategies with NATO. Hence why Russia applying a bit more force just behind the front line. If either side's red lines become crossed, then we will see their responses. Right now, Ukraine hasn't sorted out its strategy and Russia is willing to wait and see how Ukraine and NATO implement any plans if they decide on any.

This line only so far exists as some words. They have not cut off Russia's natural gas supply and is contracted for more. Russia however can exercise force or other ways to prevent Ukraine from siphoning some gas for themselves.

Unlike what the geniuses on this forum think, nations don't make preparations on words, they make decisions based upon capability.

This is why Russia hasn't done shit yet. If they were serious about invading Ukraine, they'd have quietly done it by now, like they've done in the past. The Russians don't tend to announce to the world they're about to take military action, they just do it, which is why I think this is nothing more than drama.
