US Navy commander implies that Chinese naval ships can't 'fight their way out of a wet paper bag'

I think that his remark was in bad taste. However, his intended message is that an American warship is superior to its Chinese counterpart and this disparity is larger then one might guess from the looks of them.

.
In the Koren war when the disparity of technology was highest, the Americans claim to finnish the war by its first Christmas. Then when the PVA arrived they ran and ran and ran and even the south Korean capital was lost.

Its a tradition of theirs to talk tough and belittle their foes. Then gtfo when shit gets real.
So where was the PLAN back in the Korean War ?

This is an admiral speaking. Am not sure if you guys understand a little bit of military issues or not, but usually when an ADMIRAL talk, it involves SHIPS.

This is what a 'ship' looks like...

It floats on something calls 'water, and for a 'warship', it usually floats on 'seawater', which have a lot of salt in it.

Anyway...Warfare on water is vastly different than on land. Soldiers on land shoots at each other. Sailors at sea do not. Ships fight each other. What this mean is that the ship whose sailors have the most knowledge of naval warfare and of their own vessel, and have the most experience, usually win.

That is what the admiral was talking about.

LOL Says a US navy commander who cannot do anything about SCS. Words don't mean anything. Now wait US navy commander before you are ridiculed by Trump on a daily basis.

. .
This US admiral does not appear professional at all. Maybe it's a new trend in USN to have more and more of these sub standard admiral.

The standard has been set after the election of Trump.

Hello, now is year 2017, not year 1894. Now the China regime is under Han's control, not some corrupted and incompetent Manchu. Now we can beat the shit out of anyone, including Japan and India.

And the mentality didn't change much, even though I feel Chinese people became somewhat arrogant under CCP.

I was having a go at the cowboy rhetoric and condescending attitude adopted by your war mongers.

What you say about having the most knowledge and of their own vessel applies to all forms of warfare regardless of land sea and air. There is this Chinese guy who wrote about it 26 CENTURIES AGO...

The irony is that the same taunters cannot do anything regarding SCS despite their so-called supremacy on sea. China red faced them in front of the world by catching their underwater drone. So much for taunts and supremacy.

Arrogant? You mean telling facts is consider arrogant? After US who has the strong military to match by the powerful economy? China :enjoy:

Not exactly.

I've read a lot of history about China and I've felt that Chinese Generals in the past were much humble.Everything changed after 1945 though.Communism changed entire China, maybe for good, may be for bad,but what changes came among the civilians, one of them is arrogance.

we should encourage this thought, we are weak, pray spare us mighty U.S

LOL Yeah, just play along as second fiddle. Would keep them happy I suppose.

You know, your war experience in WW2 could has barely any relevance, if any at all, in modern warfare which involves super weapons like this:

Or even better:

Hypersonic re-entry anti-ship missiles with a range of 12,000 km

In a serious modern warfare, the CVs in the USN will be proved to be as efficient as these 1800 era ships in the museum:azn:

True. But what works on land do not always work on water.

For example, on land, if the sergeant yells 'Take cover', every soldier disperse and find the nearest and best protection. You cannot do that on water.

Another example, on land, not every soldier is a medic, but on a ship, every sailor is a trained firefighter.

When was the last time the PLAN was combat stressed ?

There is this Chinese guy who wrote about it 26 CENTURIES AGO...
And we are the better student of him than your China is.

You see the words but not the meaning.

The writings of Sun Tzu tend to be very abstract and does not allude to any specific type of warfare. The writings can even be applied to business practice.

The PLAN is not battle tested and its best to leave it that way.

The best way to win a war is to not fight at all.
