US missile defense test fails: Pentagon

Why don't US take Help from INDIANS as they have BEST ABM system in this world made by D,RDO ?

actually they should ask pakistan for help considering the fact their missiles "never failed" in any test.Best missiles in the world.

But sorry the matter is about ABM second a super power can ask other super duper power to help... as for Indians Pakistan is Failed state so what for :D :D

. .
We dont have it readily buts it in pipeline and not a pipe-dream ...we are just waiting for the right time to test it!

Well, they wont get it directly from Russia so they might come to India....the way you use Russian copied stuff and then even export it to countries like Pakistan!

he did not say india has one he said india gets a reason to make one. its not a question of capability just a matter of intent.the same reason ur generals claimed that indians down played the range of agni v..besides we dont need a specialized wepon for that a modified agni v can be used for it.After Agni-V launch, DRDO?s new target is anti-satellite weapons - Times Of India

lets stay on the topic bro

No. It's one thing to have ambitions but another to actually be capable of making it. India only has ambitions but definitely don't have the capability to build it.

Mid course interception is too difficult to achieve.
I would say difficult but not 'too difficult'.

When people speaks of mid course interception, they (understandably) think of a head on interception scheme. After all, the weapon is approaching and if you are on the defensive, a head on intercept is pretty much the best response you have. A head on intercept is always the most technically challenging, simply because if you miss, the odds of you reacquiring the target after a turn around time is pretty slim. Slim to none. So for a head on interception scheme, sensor and guidance integration is the most crucial design phase. It is not likely that I would launch an interceptor after the weapon passed, aka a 'tail chase' intercept.

US should place laser shooting satellite in geosynchronous orbit over NK and shoot down its missiles at boost phase. @gambit how likely is that with today's technology?
For starter, atmospheric interference will dilute beam concentration.

Second...A geosync orbit is equatorial and North Korea is a couple thousands miles from the equator. I may be wrong but I think a geosync orbit altitude is the highest popular usable one. So now not only do we have atmosphere induced losses and beam spread, we also have to contend with a little bit longer distance from equator.

Third...Anything in orbit must be low maintenance and I mean really really low. The vast majority of satellites in orbit are not visited by man once a satellite is seated where it supposed to be. This laser weapon must be no different. The power required to relay **** from Earth is not powerful enough to burn through sheetmetal. This laser weapon must be.

I think that The The US should take help from the Pakitanins to develop ABM none of their Missiles have Failed so far not even once in North Korea & China

Also their Space Program is Very Advanced They are Colonizing Pluto Right now while the so called Space Powers China,Russia,USA are still stuck on Mars

why do you desperately believe that a country that can succesfully test fire an ICBM,cant build an ASAT missile??

US missile defense test fails: Pentagon

WASHINGTON: America's missile defense system failed on Friday in a test over the Pacific, with an interceptor failing to hit an incoming ballistic missile, the Pentagon said.

The miss represented yet another setback for the costly ground-based interceptors, which have not had a successful test result since 2008.

The test's objective was to have an interceptor, launched from Vandenberg air base in California, knock out a long-range ballistic missile fired from a US military test site at Kwajalein atoll in the Marshall Islands.

But "an intercept was not achieved," US Missile Defense Agency spokesman Richard Lehner said in a brief statement.

"Program officials will conduct an extensive review to determine the cause or causes of any anomalies which may have prevented a successful intercept," it said.

The anti-missile weapon has run into repeated technical problems, with tests delayed after two failures in 2010.

The United States has 30 of the ground-based interceptors in Alaska and California, at a cost of about $34 billion. They are supposed to counter the potential threat posed by North Korea, which has tried to develop long-range ballistic missiles.

The Pentagon wants to deploy an additional 14 ground-based interceptors to bases in Alaska, at a cost of about $1 billion, also in response to what Washington deems a growing threat from North Korea.

Some lawmakers also are pushing to open a new missile defense site on the country's East Coast, in case Iran or other adversaries obtain long-range missiles.

Critics of the missile defense program are sure to seize on the test result as further proof that the system faces insurmountable technical hurdles.

And most crucially, they have no answer to many weapons nor do they look capable of finding ways around them. Yankees are unlikely to have the last laugh. I think I committed a blunder by placing heavy bets on a loser community.
BRMS: It’s all over for Abraham Lincoln.
Missiles and bombs will rain on Denmark and NorthEast region of US before the end of Dec 2014.
Yankees are all set for capitulation.
