Even good leaders like MMS cannot prevent a war or atleast conflict in case of another Mumbai Like attack. So america should take care of pakistan nukes and terrorist groups in it.

These are just hollow words and US cant afford another war and keep in mind Pakistan is not Iraq or Afghanistan it is much more and you wanna play ball then come up and play it ur self without US getting involved........

Why must we leave the Mumbai attacks behind us? If it were up to me, i would never support improving relations with Pakistan. Right from the start their policy has revolved around making India bleed from a thousand cuts. I say we do nothing. I say we let them rot and do absolutely nothing to help them recover. I am not suggesting war, that would be disastrous. I am suggesting passive observation and active defence. While at the same time maintaining covert aggression.

Coz a stable and friendly Pakistan is far better than a destablized Anti-India Pakistan.
Just think of it - 5,846 km (3,633 mi) of four/six lane express highways at a cost of 60,000 crore (US$13.3 billion) provided the Golden Quadrilateral to India. What magic we can do if we get share from our monstrous defence budget. Schools, Univerties (a world class univ. costs just Rs 130crore), Hospitals, Railways... India would already be developed.

A radicalized Pakistan is a recipe for disaster ( for a Pakistani). Unlike India, you have whole sections of provinces pushing for liberation. India has its separatists but thankfully, their activities are on a steep decline owing government policies. If Pakistan gets radicalized it won't be a united Pakistan. It will be a balkanized Pakistan and thus, in itself no credible threat to India. Indians should simply insulate themselves with broader border security.

You just sounded like 'India will be running to US to intervene?' Dang! Where will such threats take you or me or anyone?

Well, anyways, I don't think that there will be a war... Hopefully, security forces of both countries can ensure that it is avoidable, even if it is planned. However, if there indeed is another 26/11 type of an accident, I am sure that Indian public will make politicians declare one or take some action (other than 'putting pressure') and will lynch them publically if they won't. You should have seen how PRs of political parties were publically humiliated by simple citizens at not being able to stop 26/11 and then, not doing anything about it.

If both these unfortunate things do happen, it will be an all out war.. US or no US will not matter... as they say 'Gloves are off'... I don't think either country wants it... No one has ever lived happily after a war! So, just hope for the peace!

U know what if the feeling has been mutual there would have been no war between us. Radicalized Pakistan is nightmare to India but what to do We have lived with it for 60 years. What storm ? Petty claims wont help...

The U.S will most probably not militarily intervene -They may put tremendous diplomatic pressure on both countries but they sure as hell would never think of getting into another mess , neither would China for that matter .

No friend peace from only one side cannot prevent conflicts.
Agreed that we get roads,bridges,schools,universities,buildings and many other benefits if we dont spend billins for defence.
But if you dont spend for defence, there is no use of constructing roads,universities etc. We cannot achieve self defence unless we spend billions on it. Else our resources would be danger. We are not in an island like australia. We are sandwitched between pakistan and china. Though we make frienship with them, we cannot reduce defence budget. The enemy is not ready to do so and why should we?
