This can be a blessing in disguise for Pakistan. US needs to stop aid to Pakistan and Pakistan needs to get out of this war OF terror and stop NATO supply routes.

The aid is just going to corrupt politicians anyways, its not helping the common Pakistani.

TTP was formed only in 2007, there was no such thing as TTP before U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, and according to the Army chief TTP is weaker than ever.

A country is made up of its people. Pakistan still has a lot of very capable and intelligent people, which means that these problems can be fixed.

China has been going through a rough patch for the past two centuries (century of humiliation, etc)... but eventually we got out of it, and you guys will too.

i think pakistan is at such an important important period in its history.

I want to know wat do pakistani people beleive in?

do they still believe their corrupt politicians. do they still think army as their sole guardians of soveregnity/freedom/independence?

in my opinion till this tussle between army and civilian leadership is resolved the normal pakistanis will continue to suffer. look at the present situation. pakistani leaders cant do much cas they dont have power. military leaders have power but no accountability. i would personally dread a situation like this if it was in india.

i do hope common pakistani get the opportunity to overhaul the system.

I agree but there should be complete reformation of the country and it should happen fast.

Pakistan has a lot of potential but all this 'Islamic' nonsense has kept this whole nation down and has led it to such a pathetic state.

Let some people to fool themselves. The americans have already announced their withdrawl from Iraq, a large porttion of their army have already left, the others are on their way home, but we still see bombings and suicide attacks killing iraqis in large numbers. If the nato leaves the region just like that, it will be really really nasty for everyone and that includes pakistan and afghanistn. Will the good Taliban forget what pakistan did to them? Pakistan sided with americans to pound them hard, and imprison their leaders. Almost all the supplies of nato came through pakistan until recently, will the Good taliban forget and forgive? especially when they(god forbid) are the victorious guys, that victory fever will put them on odds with paksitan, on the other hand, the Bad Taliban and other affiliated groups will receive a huge morale boost against pakistan, its army and gov, giving the history of cooperation between bad and good taliban, there is no guarantee that the bad and good join forces togehther agains pakistan, you also shouldnt underestimate the ethnic factor which is very strong between them, they wouldnt care about panjabis or tajiks, or afghanistan and pakistan. On top of all that, if the americans are humiliated to withdraw from afghanistan, will they forget pakistan for their role in all of this situations? americans will do everything to punish pakistan, be it economic sanctions, political pressure, closeness to india and god knows what more. Afghans are burning from the fire of extremism lit by americans and pakistan for teh last 30 years, but you know what, they both(Pakistan and America) are now buring with the same fire. Feel sorry for the ordinary people in these 2 countries who are taking all the hit---we know their pain as our burns are much severe and long term than them.
