US hands over new M-109 to PA

And do you know with whose collaboration the Panter was made and improved considerably by the Turkish themselves. Yeah, you guessed right, it was made in collaboration with the Singaporean company, same one whose one model is competing in the IA artillery gun procurement competition, so if this Panter is such a bad gun, why is the IA even allowing the Pegasus to compete becoz am sure nearly identical or very much similar technology is being used in the Pegasus and Panter (derived from FH-2000 by ST Kinetics), who helped the Turkish in making this gun.

IA is considering Pegasus for creating a competitive environment. Here is the IA comparative report and make your own conclusion.

Looks like a superb weapon. As to "combat proven", that really doesn't matter with artillery thus I anticipate its performance would be more than validated during firing exercises by your army.

Different strokes for different folks. Our equipment is always designed with the idea that we're an expeditionary force that must be able to deploy globally. Your's generally isn't and that allows, IMHO, some features with your weapon that I'd very much like to have as a former artilleryman.

If the M777 works for India-cool. If the PANTER gets it done for Pakistan, that's cool too. I like any weapon that shoots reliably and requires minimal maintenence.

Thanks.:usflag:

I am not making any conclusion about the Pegasus, it was the Indian member who called the Panter Howitzer inferior and being bought by some small armies. In that context i told him that what howitzer you are calling inferior, its manufacturer is the same company, whose another artillery system is in the running for his IA procurement competition.

Plus, the comparative analysis that you just provided was between the Bofors FH77 and Israeli ATHOS 2052, so i don't understand where does the Pegasus comes into play.

And Pegasus is for some ultra light air transportable, mountain specific procurement request i believe.

For desert and normal areas, i believe the 52 caliber would be used, as Pegasus is 39 caliber barrel.

ST were not participated coz of ban, the comparative report provided is only to refer GSQR.

ST got banned or not or whatever, they were invited, that matters.

AM not arguing about the ban or GSQR, all my concern was by the other guy calling Panter an inferior gun.
