US discusses China’s ‘assertiveness’ with India

^^^ Before you worry about Tibet, first worry about the tens of thousands of innocent Kasmiri civilians that have been butchered by Indian security forces.

The difference, is that no country in the world considers Tibet a disputed area, unlike Kashmir.

The disputed area is on the minds of our western and northern neighbours, the powers that be globally are least interested in this.

Here in India we are looking at perpetuating the LoC as International Border and wish to do the same for the LAC

Thanks

And yes another point Sir, every nation play diplomatic games to perpetuate their national interests,

Nobody stops India from paying lip service, play dual games and fool other nations. After all out national interest is at stake.

we take our lessons from battle hardened professionals globally right from the UK, USA and now PRC

And as far as Kashmir is concerned and the alleged genocide we (you and I) are on the same boat, it boils down to

Jinke Ghar Seeeshe ke hote hain woh dusron pe patthar nahin fenkte

"Those whose houses are made of glass do not throw stones at others' houses" an old adage from India with love.......

Exactly, so why did an Indian poster bring up Tibet on the very FIRST page of this topic, considering that Tibet is completely irrelevant to the thread?

It was also an Indian poster that brought up Kashmir, and that was on page #7.

Millions of Indians like me are moderates and that is what drives our nation...:welcome:

But I have a question Mr Bozo. Why are the chinese only interested in building those infra in Pakistan that will ultimately serve their interests (like Gwadar port, its connector to china)? Why dont they build lotsa schools and hospitals ? and maybe import Pakistani cotton and textile while ending unfair trade practices that makes their own textiles cheaper!

would like to hear from you on this.

You forgot Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma, Africa and even Greece is being rescued with some CHinese money. SO why is India trying to behave what it is not?? I dont see chinese all over the middle roaching on jobs at 1/3rd of market wages. Seriously India should be ashamed of all its ambitions when its nationls are begging around middle east for jobs willing to fall low in wages as much it can be squeezed. Almost every country if Gulf and even USA and europe want to put a cap on this indian economic migration which is depriving local people off their rightful employment just because indians are willing to compete not interactually but at 1/3 wages.

Looks like indians dont know much about indian reality!!
Man Mohan dreams of energy security from Saudis were mooted by chinese which made him issue a historically absurd statement upon his return that "Saudis have agreed to sell oil at market price"?? Wtf?? Oil is always sold at market price and there is no secret to that. The Chinese on other hand are building a refinery, a petro-chemical plant, transport railway, gas purification plant, derivatives processing plant, a plastic and rubber processing plant..its really a mega petroleum processing city.

China and Pakistan are not unitied because one day they decided to shake hands and be friends. We have thousands of years of understanding and common political concerns. Indians think that we are being political mothballs and chinese are rewarding us for some feet licking which is not the case. Chinese investment and trade has always flourished in the part of subcontinent which is called Pakistan. Belive me of not but there are many many Pakistanis who looks like Chinese or have visible "china men" features. This is a witness to thousands of years of releations and people migration.

There is a big difference between investment and influence. Indians want to invest a few million, make a quick buck and call it a day. And these days their obession is circulating around Afghanistan when millions of their own have no toilets. The CHinese in my observance reach to the grass root level build schools and clinics and offer free house hold appliances to local populance. This effectively results in positive image and invites feelings of gratitude which the Indians are most jealous of. An Australian company lost bidding to Chinese constorium in Afghanistan because the Chinese were willing to pacify local tribemen and help them uplift their living conditions versus the Australians who simply wanted government gurantees and make their bucks. Building influence is a matter of patience while making profit is a matter of oppurtunity. There are hundred of example like these spread around Africa hence the Chinese are not only able to foot hold most dangerous parts of the world but extract benefit out it it as well. Despite that still there are few incidents where Chinese engineers have been attacked or blown up. SOme happened even in Pakistan.

In an over all equation China is better than India and will remain so for sevral years to come. Indian members should not have jealousy towards good Pak-China releations. Unlike USA these are not over night disposable releations. We both have huge stakes in each other and more importantly a very large shared population.

Partly why it's so hard to get a decent internationality discussion going like we're starting to have on the war warmongering thread.

This is the 3rd time I am saying this - it was a very erudite member from Thailand who happened to be a Chinese supporter who brought in the historical angle to the debate - go back and see #1 - once he brought in the historical angle, bringing in Tibet was inevitable.

Fighting trolling with more trolling. That's the spirit.

Keep repeating the mantra - even you might actually start believing it. Apparently, it is kosher for Chinese members to discuss whatever they feel like - but once Indians here mention Tibet which is an important cog thats aids the ebb and flow of the Indo-Chinese relationship - some of you cry foul.

Stop trolling and derailing this thread with your personal attacks and racism.

If you are so desperate to talk about Tibet, please go to the China defence section and start a thread on it, and talk about it as much as you want. Also if you want to be balanced, start another thread on the tens of thousands of innocent Kashmiri civilians that have been butchered by Indian security forces.

You can continue making wild allegations of racism if it helps you feel better about being at the losing end of a debate. Whether you like it or not, Tibet is - and I repeat myself for the benefit of those who didn't understand the earlier comment - crucial to any India-China debate, with India giving refuge to so many Tibetan refugees. It is quite obvious who is getting butchered - the Kashmiris whom I don't see clamoring to China to ask for political refuge or the Tibetans who would rather move to a third world backward nation like India than continue living in China occupied Tibet.

Though you were not a default India-basher. I was wrong.

US has troops in S. Korea, and Japan. They've just struck a nuclear deal with Vietnam. And now, they want India to talk about China.

It seems China is being encircled. But then again, India won't be so easy to bring under America's wing. Even if US-Indian relations threaten China, India will only do so as long as it's in her interest.
