US diplomat flees after hit-and-run, hides at military base – police

All the staff members of any US embassy enjoy immunity.

In Pakistan, a member of their staff killed two and then ran from the scene too.

To which incident are you referring to here, please?

Thanks for telling u make it up just to smear China. How much are u paid this time from CIA?
When I was in XinJiang, I was just a kid growing up at a military base. Han Chinese there knew it was very hard to reason with rural natives who were mostly Uyghurs due to cultural differences, let alone the language barrier. It was very easy to get into violent conflict. The hit-and-run strategy was simply a way for self-preservation, not about violating laws. Even as kids, we thought it was a reasonable approach given the circumstances. Yet, you thought I was smearing China. Wow, just wow. Enjoy staying in the bubble.

Following a car into the consulate without permission is still a violation of international law. In addition he had correct front plates, produced identification when arrested that showed he was a diplomat, AND you aren't even supposed to assault regular criminals.
Americans high on power trip are semi degenerate ,you wouldn't find any Chinese,Japanese or Korean police act in such a demented manner. China should have kept the official designation of these western invaders as barbarians to warn each and every one of their inherent genetic traits and culture ,their just keep sucking the living daylight out of global south and their people and make everyone miserable in their vicinity and then normalizes it.

Raymond Davis.

So why leave out the part where he was arrested and tried, and then escorted by the DG ISI to the airport after paying blood money according to the laws of Pakistan? The rule of law works both ways.

There was another drunkard military attache who ran a red light and killed a motorcyclist and then fled the scene in 2018 in Islamabad.

They are regular in killing people while driving because they enjoy immunity.

Diplomats are taught to seek safety first of all, otherwise, anyone can cause an accident and have them come out of the car, which represents a grave security risk. It is best to sort out the matter later.

Please see the above. It applies to Chinese diplomats too.

The old adage, it is better to be Judged by 12 then carried by 6. Even in a friendly country like South Korea, do you think it’s standard procedure to just go to the consulate and then work out the case through diplomatic channels? Hopefully the accident was just minor, we don’t need another Bradley APC running over schoolgirls type incident, that PSY alluded to in his performance years ago. Especially when China is primed to potentially exploit these kinds of incidents.

I only said he ran away.. meaning he fled after killing the two..

He was nabbed by the traffic police later when he was running away as far as I remember..

That immunity applies to ALL diplomats, and besides, those cases are resolved by mutual consultations, and this is again the same for ALL such cases.

US diplomat flees after hit-and-run, hides at military base – police

An American diplomat in Seoul has fled the scene after a suspected hit-and-run incident and is now hiding from the police at a US military base, South Korean law enforcement has complained.
An unnamed member of the US diplomatic mission had allegedly been behind the wheel of a car that collided with a taxi in the center of the Korean capital on Wednesday.
The crash is said to have happened when the vehicle was changing lanes, damaging the cab’s rear bumper.
The accident was minor, but the diplomat didn’t stop to deal with it. He hit the gas instead and tried to flee the scene, prompting a chase.

The taxi driver followed him all the way to the Yongsan Garrison, an American military and diplomatic facility in Seoul. The police also arrived there, but the diplomat and his three passengers refused to cooperate with the officers.

The Americans declined to undergo an alcohol test and drove inside the base, which is off limits to Korean law enforcement. The police also couldn’t detain the member of the US mission outside the facility due to his diplomatic immunity.

The suspect has been holed up at the Yongsan Garrison since then. In order to reach him, the police sent a request to the US Embassy, asking for cooperation. “We plan to decide on the charges after seeing the statement of the US diplomat,” the police said.

The incident appears to be yet another example of outrageous conduct by foreign diplomats and their family members in Korea in recent months.

Earlier this month, the husband of a Dutch diplomat prompted a police probe after lightly hitting a Korean man with his car during an argument over a parking spot.

In June, Belgium had to recall its ambassador Peter Lescouhier from the country over his wife’s violent behavior. The woman was first filmed slapping a shopkeeper and later started a brawl with a street cleaner after his broom accidentally touched her.

Where did I say immunity doesn't apply to any diplomats?

But the real benefit of this immunity was taken on two occasions by the US staff.. One of them was a contractor.. but the US insisted he was immune.. the other one ran a red light and killed an innocent while under the influence of alcohol..

Morally upright nation the US is.

Of course it is, no more and no less, than any other country.

Of course it is.. and the below is an evidence of this:

1 - Raymond Davis, shot and killed two armed Pakistani men on a motorcycle while he was surreptitiously taking photographs in Lahore. Davis then radioed for backup. Minutes later, four men in a Toyota Land Cruiser with fake registration plates made an unsuccessful attempt to reach the scene. Stopped in a traffic jam, the driver of the Land Cruiser jumped the median on Jail Road, traveled against the oncoming traffic. The Land Cruiser collided with a motorcyclist unconnected to the initial incident, later identified as Ebadur Rehman (also transliterated Ibad-ur-Rehman). Faizan Haider died at the scene, while both Faheem Shamshad and Ibad-ur-Rehman were taken to Services Hospital, Lahore and subsequently also died.

The U.S. and Pakistani governments did not agree as to Davis's legal status in Pakistan at the time of his arrest. The U.S. government claimed that Davis was a diplomat and should neither have been arrested nor should be prosecuted under Pakistani law because he had diplomatic immunity under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. The Punjab authorities (the province in which Davis was arrested) claimed that Davis was not on a diplomatic visa but on an official business visa.

No action was taken against Mr. Davis when he returned to the US.

2 - A drunk US military attache of the US embassy jumped a red light and killed an innocent motorcyclist and then fled the scene.

Pakistan asked for the waiver in this particular case because the crime committed by the staff was serious, but the upright leader of human rights didn't waive that and the killer escaped unscathed.

I could take the actions of a few individuals from just about any other country and try to paint the entire nation with generalizations just as you have done above, but why bother? Please carry on in this thread as you wish. I am out.
No action was taken against Mr. Davis when he returned to the US.

Why would there be double jeopardy for him, when he was already dealt with by the law of the jurisdiction where the incident occurred?
Pakistan asked for the waiver in this particular case

... and the waiver was denied according to the provision of the relevant conventions.
