US considering possibilities of civil nuclear cooperation with Pak

@Oscar when you agree that IMF can appoint prime minister, than it all depends on what is in there interest, will go around.

Why finance ministers of democratic govt. always in need of IMF loans? where as so called dictator's finance minister work in total opposite way?

There are no ifs and buts.... Pakistan's state owned utility sector is pledged with IMF and they are not leaving any thing for the govt. to decide or negotiate, regarding pricing of their produce.

Your said, comprehensive energy policy, lacks liberalization and this is the key. instead, democrats are making foreign tours and efforts, to increase profits of pledged entity.... this is totally stupid or extremely selfish.

We are having energy crisis and you mentioned, economy is suffering but at the same time, you would like to raise taxes incl. energy sector... this is not working in the national interest, may be it is a plan to turn Pakistan into a consumer state,,, and at the same time transforming India in region, from transit aid recipient to supplier.

Practically, it is impossible to raise tax level any further, therefore this new talk of raising tax net... which is essentially limited to raising the tax levels at lowest level.

No one can tax members of assembly... or heads of political parties.... but this has nothing to do with reliability of energy...
energy gets unreliable, due to poor infrastructure and in Pakistan due to terrorism and theft..... where as solar energy at local level does not involve state's multi billion dollar infrastructure.... but than a common man become independent and you loose reason to tax.
I can bet you in Pakistan, which is nation of engineers... govt. and IMF will fail to block the solar energy for long time and they know it, and mark my words.. that will be the time, when sun light will be taxed. otherwise your solar panels will face fate as what satellites in Iran.

I know the economics of energy its conservation, reliability, structure, development, human resources, international standards, so don't mix the words... pick a topic one by one to discuss.

Again in short.... solar energy is the best way forward for Pakistan to get rid of blackouts in shortest possible time and lowest possible cost and by liberalizing the sector govt. need not to invest a penny, rather govt. got to save $billions yearly... which it spend on operation of the infrastructure and so called electricity theft etc. It surely needs sunshine to be reliable, but i guess we have lot of sun at lot of places.

Out nuclear program is a civilian-military program.

To be bound by pesky inspectors (especially Americans) would be asking for trouble. Nothing personal. Americans are great people by and large. Their 'authorities' however are no way in hell to be trusted.

Such an initiative would be beyond stupid. And even stupider considering they are cozying up and working towards civ tech with the hostile neighbour country

It's a non-starter

Working with the Chinese (coal, solar) and Japanese and Turks (e.g. zorlu initiative) is what we should opt for

.
it must be with numerous strings attached, and if later at some point due to those T&C we say NO they would go like "we helped you, you are the one who took this for granted"

im not saying it cant be considered, however the T&C are what matter most (in this case) !!!!

America is playing its game and she knows that recently China is developed its full 100% home made latest nuclear power plant and its 3 gen power plant and now Pakistan can get this plant in next 5 to 7 years, so she start her game now so that in reasonable time she can pull cash from Pakistan and not let china a free ground. Smart move!

Now French Ambassador saying "though Pakistan hasn't made any such request, if she does, we might give it a consideration. Pakistan is getting assistance from China in her nuclear program which falls within her rights."
