It's pragmatism. Deng Xiaoping realised that Communism was an ineffective system, and started market reforms in the 1970's... which was a long time before the collapse of Communism in the 1990's.

Which means China has been Communist for 30 years out of a 5000 year history. Communism came from Europe, it has nothing to do with traditional Chinese culture, which has had the concept of private property since the beginning. The idea of "abolishing private property" (Communism) came from Europe and has long since vanished as a respectable idea in economic theory.

So I'd say that borrowing money from a so-called Communist power is more embarrassing.

China was not a pole in that bipolar world and how China with its limited power back then was able to prolong a superpower cold war needs an explanation from you.

I know you blame China for what happened in Vietnam but ultimately there would have been no Vietnam war as we know it if not for the Soviets and Americans.

If you went to a mental hospital, would you give a severely insane patient an ak-47? No, you wouldn't. So why would you allow North Korea, and insane cult like country, to have nuclear weapons?

Nuke this bomb that kill this kill that.. what has the US achived or gained nothing at all it has lost every where it has been its a shame that it takes these chances by killing it's own troops bringing body bags back home and in the mix of that killing many others and while us the people living here back home have to suffer furthermore, loosing our hard earned/worked tax dollar's get spent on sh_t while it should be spent here at home i support the US in alot of things but not on all it's int'l polices . America sided with China willingly in 1972... and today of its own free will, America continues to buy Chinese goods, and borrow Chinese money. Ironically it then uses this borrowed money, to buy more Chinese goods. The trade deficit continues to rise, year after year.

There is no ideology anymore, only pragmatism.

They don't get it. Westerners think everything is about ideology and religion. Even though gambit is genetically vietnamese, he is a white man in every other way. Why else is the West plagued by religious and ideological wars? Our ideology is much simpler and does not need to be justified - we're loyal to all other Chinese as a whole, we want others that are like us to have better lives, and that is the basis of every chinese government in the past 5000 years.

Mao was not a communist first, he was a Chinese first and foremost and is respected for his poetry more than his politics nowadays. His communist ideology made their necessary contributions, now there are significant modifications of that, and even if Mao was still alive he would definitely approve. So when the Soviets tried to tell him what to do he said get out and almost started a war with them.

The current peace enforced by the US is just a passing illusion. Once the US descends into civil war, the world will be free.

Not to get off topic but I'd like to add to what belowfreezing has said. When you read a western news paper on China whenever xinhua or another state paper is mentioned we inevitably hear the phrase "CCP mouth piece". When Zhang Yimou directed To Live he was heralded as a great film director by western critics because he "exposed the evils of the CCP during the cultural revolution" but when he directed Hero he was criticized for "supporting state authoritarianism". How the **** did those people make the connection between a story set in Qin China with Modern China????

Yes, basically, as the NK government and especially the dear leader has proven. It is a delusional, cult like country that is not living in reality and it s a danger to everyone.
