US Congress stalls F-16 sale to Pakistan

Relax guys, the Indians habitually are busy with their Randi Rona so the Pentagon has to shove a dummy into their mouth to shut them up, no doubt PAF loves the F-16s , the performance of Block-52s has been beyond expectations, however PAF high command during a recent visit to Washington made it clear that if US goes about beating around the bush again then times have changed as PAF has other options.
This is not the nineties !
Also keep in mind the carry on with the Super Cobra gunships, which were eventually cleared for sale to PAF.
On a side note, if US wanted any restrictions on PAF F-16s, why would it supply with CFTs, and recently it has emerged that instead of the standard 500g drop tanks, US supplied PAF with special 600g tanks for the F-16s....so they could strike even deeper in enemy territory.... Actually, this deal will go through. So will a follow through bigger order. What is happening right now is a clever deception to calm down Indian sentiment and protect US interests in Chinese perspective. In the end, it will go through after Indian lobby is done celebrating. Important to note even strategic allies like Saudi Arabia and others face these stunts. One needs to keep in mind the US is a democracy and the congress has wide variety of views & opinions. The F-16s should go through regardless of opposition by certain lobbies simply because the White House, State Department, the Pentagon and the Defence Lobby in the US wants to see the deal go through. Those in favor of the deal going through are more powerful and deeply entrenched than those that want to sabotage it.

I don't see any dam thing happening when Americans selling their super jets to Saudis even if israelis are objecting it ?
Or supplying to Israelis or Saudis are objecting them ?
Both are much closer & more stronger partners of america then any of stupid Bollywood made power ?

Well the Pakistani top brass wants the jets and have requested it. Also, the US is most likely financing the deal & in essence Pakistan is not paying for these jets. Deliberations are part of a democratic process. I am not alarmed at all.

We have been hit with sanctions in 70s, 80s and 90s, it was due to these sanctions that Pakistan became self sufficient in some fields else we would still be marching around in Korean era equipment, it was during these sanctions that Pakistan turned nuclear and despite many last minute juicy incentives by Clinton administration, we went ahead with our tests, all because due to US one sided policies, it had lost that leverage it once held, i doubt US would want to try same policies again.

It depends on the amount of help which US wants from Pakistan in resolving the Afghanistan crisis. If it wants to escape it will stall the deal till the next administration and let them veto it or accept it. If it does not or cannot it will quietly sneek them through or compensate PAk with a deal maneouvered through a third party for some MLUed planes at nominal rates. Either case we need to decide what life would be like to be embargoed again. The aims for both parties have been achieved to some extent.

It's American jets being paid for by the Americans so they can play around with them all they want, that really doesn't bother me. What does bother me is Dana Rohrbacher's comments that these jets are being used by Pakistan against its own people. Sure, we have an outstanding offer from the Taliban to cease hostilities if we denounce the US Mission in Afghanistan and stop action against Taliban, we can take that offer and stop using them against our own people and I am certain Rohrbacher here will be more than happy to strap on a helmet, grab a rifle and head on down to fight the Taliban himself.
