US Congress hearing - India's Journey From "Isolated Pakistan" to "US Congress favours Pakistan"

. . . . . .
What for? Did US sanction India? Why would we sanction US when we enjoy trade surplus with it. Isn't it counter intuitive?
India is US's ally pakistan is not... this embarrassment is like China giving statements against Pakistan in India's favor.

. .
perfect example of, when things dont go in your favor you just start crying.

India last year: Pakistan will be isolated by 2019
India in 2019: :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
Pakistan is indeed isolated. If you can't see it then God help you. Look at your south Asian neighbors how many of them raised voice in support for your claim? How about middle eastern? How about Americas?

There's a kernel of truth to Trump's claims that 'the Establishment is out to get him'. The US Deep State/Establishment, may not be actively conspiring against him, but they don't like Trump's 'disruptor' views & policies. The US Establishment is stuffed with individuals that are stuck in the 'US vs Them' cold war mentality. Whether it's Russia or China, the US Establishment needs a bogeyman to justify itself. There are a plethora of think tanks and bureaucrats that have spent decades feeding off the same teat, churning out policy analysis on 'containing China, Russia & Islamic terrorism'. For them, India remains a potential 'ally' (even though no one cannot point to any Indian change in policy on providing military support in a US-China military conflict), and India's bigotry and anti-Muslim credentials are in fact a plus for the Establishment. Add in the fact that the State Department and other institutions have been stuffed with pro-India hawks and you can see why Trump appears to be flailing about when it comes to foreign policy, why Trump says one thing and Alice Wells either has to walk it back or dilute it.

Indian's & the West often disparage Pakistan for being 'obsessed with India' and being a 'security State' - the irony is that US foreign policy and the US Establishment has itself not let go of their own cold war mentality & obsessions with States that are becoming more powerful (economically & militarily) that don't tow the US line internationally. Does anyone really think the Chinese are going to launch an invasion of mainland USA? Or for that matter the Russians? The fact that everyone and their mother in the US has piled onto Turkey over the incursion in Syria, without little to no mention of the Turkish security concerns driving that military intervention, should be a clear indication that even "NATO allies', when they don't follow the Establishment diktat, are not immune to being 'neutralized'.

The US Establishment is the reason why 'cerebral' US Presidents (like Obama) essentially end up pursuing the same policies as other less 'cerebral' Presidents (Bush), regardless of their campaign slogans and party affiliation. They defer to the Establishment and the Establishment doesn't change it's focus and 'institutional memory & goals' with the Presidency, much like policy in the Pakistan Army doesn't really change significantly from COAS to COAS. Trump is unusual in that he has pushed back against the Establishment, and when coming up against Establishment opposition, inertia & reluctance to change, he's acted on his own (The Syria-Turkey fiasco as an example). In his first meeting with IK, the State Department diluted the J&K issue significantly. But by the time the second meeting occurred around the UNGA, the State Department couldn't really hide the issue any more and issued a much less diluted version of the Trump position on J&K (albeit still diluted). Alice Well's favorable comments on India and the J&K issue are just another example of the Establishment coming out to support its latest pet project.

I suggest you advice her...

US Congressional hearing was a setup against India, in favour of Pakistan: Aarti Tikoo Singh

Yes, she is right. I suppose you don't understand how congressional hearing s work. This was set up by Congressmen who were supportive of Pakistan and against India. Yet hearing itself was not called Kashmir hearing. Rather lame 'human rights in south Asia'. They did discuss Pakistan's human rights as well.

The head of the hearing Brad Sherman is the Head of Indian caucus in congress. When trump first made comments on Kashmir he was the first American he apologized to India.

When was the last time these countries supported Pakistan for Kashmir cause? NEVER

You have support of Malaysia, Turkey and China. So you feel not isolated. Great. Malaysia will fall since its only Mahathir supporting which will wither with the old man in few months.
