US can count on Turkey on Afghanistan troop pullout: Erdogan

.
Best for Turkey to keep Troops over the horizon in Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan to rescue civilians should the need arise. Also, would be more apt to have some kind of understanding between the Turks and Taliban to reassure the Turks they won’t need to be the guardians of the Turkic peoples in Afghanistan. In the same light, a similar understanding should be made with Iran so they don’t feel they need to be the protectors of the Persianized Afghans and Hazaras.

Although the Kabuli regime may not be as weak, especially in the north, as it seems in the south and East. So the Turks maybe there to keep the two groups apart. Hope the Turks are working to bring the Kabul regime to the table and pressing them to seriously negotiate a sustainable deal by September, especially through their Uzbek friends in Kabul.

Its a win win for US, keep Afghanistan unstable longer then she need to, Tukey and Taliban on each other throats and then Pakistan and Turkey relations becomes sour. Who is the winner here?

All those concerns are simply not supported by ANY information AT ALL.

Win win for Pakistan with a close strategic ally involved.
Rather - Turkey is playing ghost writer for Pakistan. Essentially, saying Pakistan will take care of Afghanistan is political suicide and will raise massive objections. On the other hand, if a Nato member is offering to keep troops in Afghanistan it is a “win”. Doesn’t matter if the NATO member is a close ally of the key neighbor of Afghanistan.

Erdogan seems to be out of touch with reality, he has a mess a in Syria , Libya and Kurdistan , got slapped by the Israelis and wants to get stuck in the Afghan quagmire. As long Pakistan stays out the Turks can play as much as they want in Afghan land the world center for anarchy and treachery.
I don't think he means takeover from US.
He is talking about assisting them ti withdraw safely

The 500 strong Turkish troops is in the charge of the Kabul airport! Unless the Taliban have pre-booked summer vacation packages at the Caribbean how can they collide???

What Turkey gains from this?
What can Erdogan get in return?

Access towards China, more influence in Afghanistan means more influence in Xin Jiang area, which have already very strong Turkish affiliation and heritage. And yes, US might assist Turkey more, if it is able to tap that turkish link in Uighur region and try to exploit some of that situation. Don't know if in the long run, it would be wise for America to give Turkey more role in central asia. It's like creating a beast to counter some other beast. Turkey already has quite an influence around it's neighboring countries. The Americans gave Indians a chance in Afghanistan, but they don't seem to show any competence, as their focus has always been Pakistan.

Does Turkey have a base or is Turkey planning a base in Uzbekistan and/or Turkmenistan?

Talibam won't attack the Turks and Turks won't engage the taliban. They haven't so far and they will continue. However ISIS an American arm will look tk attack the Turks and blame taliban

having good relations with NATO/US is of utmost importance for Turkey for various reasons so Erdogan is trying to show the US that he can still be a good soldier for the American empire, the Taliban sees through that and has demanded Turkey get it's forces out of Afghanistan so the two sides can have peacefull relations.

Turkey’s troops should leave Afghanistan under 2020 deal: Taliban

Turkey should withdraw its troops from Afghanistan under the 2020 deal for the pullout of foreign forces, a Taliban spokesman has said, effectively rejecting Ankara’s proposal to guard and run Kabul’s airport after the United States-led NATO forces depart.

The development raises serious questions for the US, other countries and international organisations with missions in Kabul about how to securely evacuate their personnel from landlocked Afghanistan, should fighting threaten the capital, Reuters news agency reported on Thursday.

It also appeared to dash Ankara’s hopes of using the securing of Kabul airport to help improve ties with Washington – strained by Turkey’s purchase of Russian defence systems – in talks set for Monday between President Joe Biden and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
