US blocked transfer of Jordanian F-16s to Pakistan

Only the last paragraph matters

To answer that, try calculating the cost of inducting a different weapon system with all the associated training, ecosysem and force integration costs versus something you have been flying for 30 years and know every atom of it

The last sentence matters. I wouldn't be surprised if PAF can perform full structural repairs on every nxh of F-16. And integrate weapons IF and WHEN it chooses. Plus, just like the case of Dassault Mirage, Lockheed will have a soft spot for us just because we are flying their baby. That soft spot matters, even if in the end they move the production to India.

.
It doesn't matter how good we are with F-16. We were very good with F-86 as well. . Even for india due to very advance adversaries in the market at the point of time when India start its F-16 production. it will become *good for nothing*.

It's better to upgrade JF-17 to level that we can. Saab JAS 39 Gripen is out of range. So any way the only option is Chinese J-10B or J-10P close to F-16 and we can replace mirages too, for heavy category we have to chose again Chinese J-11D, even for J-11D we have to address hurdlers between China and Russia.

I would say F-16 was not a good move. We got them just because that was easy at that point (may be expensive Mirage 2000 with TOT was good). How come PAF assume that this F-16 platform is that reliable. US had the F-16 remote control at their hand from the day one. Damage have been done, but this was clearly expected isn't it.

Listen to your post

Is this the same Israel that was ready to bomb your nuclar power station 25 years ago
Or the same nation that rushed artillery shells with 24 hours of Kargil kicking off.
India Israel is about security and business combined . A business that sees Israel defense firms make over $2 billion per year In seriously high tech arms not available to most nations in Asia.

You can try and win lobby but not with current Pakistani reputation and image abroad which is at a all time low. And in contrast modi and shinning india never been higher
Ur wrong it's all about PR .Mode denied us visa called butcher of Gujrat .It's a fact which u felt Israel considers pak more important than India and there r reason 's for it .This eventual gonaa happen very near future .For West and rest India is just a market of billion ppl nothing more .

If there was no democracy in Pakistan.... Pakistan would be economically and politicaly more strong.
Jordanian F-16s would not have been blocked.

Don't fool yourself this so called jew country is just using India for the time being. They can live and earn more even without india. Don't say their country is in need of you $2 billion or over.

New Platform has to be inducted at some stage be it 4.5 or 5 Gen. F16 has to be replaced at some stage too, cannot stick to it forever.

It depends on the system,if there was a ''good'' dictator like Putin, you are right.

Pakistani generals are most simpletons and soldiers in true sense. No match to Putin.
Still it works out for Pakistan, when army general is head of state, Pakistan is bound to grow.

And that has already been looked at into being the 5th generation system. Completely independant of most foreign suppliers.

Yes,the first years of Musharraf were fruitful, until 2007.

Was this move done after the initial Jordanian planes which came through? I'm unsure which planes people are talking about.
Also if this is the case why not block the Viper sale and other hardware?

Pakistan sought another 14 Jordanian F-16s in 2016. In fact, Jordan had put those jets on sale and it was widely believed that Pakistan would buy them. TAI had even told Defense News that it was expecting a contract from the PAF to upgrade those 14 planes. But those F-16s never came ... and now we know why.

isnt that setting the bar high, what about building a 5th gen fighter with some part from solid suppliers (turkey, china) heck hypothetically how quick would it pakistan to take delivery of 18 j10's?

nothing new, we knew that USA wants us to buy either new or no f16s

No one thinks Pakistan will resort to nuclear attack within 72-hours of initiation of hostilities. The Indians are banking on this. During this time, the Indians aim to maul the Pakistani forces and deal a devastating blow on both its psyche and ability to react. This is the whole rationale behind a limited war and to be brutally honest, Pakistan has number of serious conventional capability gaps which the Indians are very well aware and have been planning to exploit. Just look at their recent acquisitions after the Mumbai attacks. Starting with their sophisticated spy satellites designed to eavesdrop on military communication and monitor movement of troops and equipment. To the Rafael deal and host of other stuff. Truth is Pakistan is a pretty bad shape and India knows this is its best chance to strike
wrong, pakistan NASR clearly meant that we will use tactical nuke weapons on our soil if needed

After listening to his interview; i must say what has he been doing for the past several years. This kind of engagement was required for a long while. At this stage, i would not worry much. Mr Trump is unravelling Iranian deal if North Korea was not enough, we will see further multi-facet issues US will need to deal with. Tillerson is right, the man is a moron of nth class....
My 2cents; work with TAI to understand complete engineering behind F-16s so that serviceability and self maintenance is not an issue. India has successed in routing off with their *** kissing mentality - no offence it is a common trait i see with them.
JF-17 is well into flight; very likely with block 3, things will change and especially if Denel upgrades make their way in; I see it a blessing in disguise to focus now on Block 4 & 5.
We learnt a long time ago to never trust US, if this cannot be said by Pak leadership then they are nothing more like an ostrich roaming around in the kalahari.
