Why and how? That's compromising the data from the F-35 by the S-400 picking up what the radar cross section of the F-35 looks like and potentially making it easier for Russia to detect the plane.

that's an excuse for the "people"... They don't care about it... the F-35 isn't invisible... just spotted later than others. So whatever they know the size doesn't matter... Since the radar on itself can't pick it up after a certain range.
The Thing is... The US hoped to keep TR a bait by playing with the PAC contract, since at that time... S-400 was out of Question for TR...But since those few years...things changed... and the impossible became possible...
Then they pressured in hope to push TR to drop it like the Chinese sys previously... But they didn't took into account TR current situation, Whatever Nationaly/Regionaly... TR had to find something and they did...

Pressure didn't work...so now... instead of losing it all...better "hoping" having a part of the cake.

And the PAC sys is a good one. and TR should go with it too. Till her national project mature.

Personally I don't think Turkey needs stealth fighters right now, I thought they were developing their own fighter so why not just keep their F-16s for the next 10-15 years until they develop it themselves or go for Chinese or Russian aircraft that are stealth.

In the absolute ofc TR doesn't need F-35...but the same could be said for others... But the absolute doesn't exist...
So TR can't afford to keep an Airforce with F-16 for another 15+years.

I do agree but I would rather buy American as NATO is the counter balance to Russia and buying from Russia is like buying from the enemy, you don't do it. Erdogan the tyrant is changing the way Turkey should and could be developing in a more liberal way aligned with the west.

Doubt it...The US won’t allow it as long as Turkey is a NATO member, same goes for Russia...for the same reason...

The US shouldn't have put TR in that Corner of "I will not sell you mine AND don't buy from others either".
Russia isn't the Soviets anymore... it's a pale copy of it... Their only influence is their "Legacy"...nothing more nothing else. They are not more special than another Western country... They bet on countries who still remember their forefathers... / the good old days...

Therefore today NATO is "meaningless" compared to it's original shell... but more like a "Gang" nowadays. A show of power. Where by getting in you get yourself in a special group with advantages etc... A sort of Elite CLub...

The Russian system is still the best in the world in trained hand...So far since the introduction of the S300 all the Israelis attacks has stopped...

If Turkey cant get F35 how will their parliament allow their government to sell this patriot missiles while the same parliament stopped F35?

I hope Turkey takes a wise decision and not waste 3.5 billion.

You can use F35 as offensive device , while you can't use Patroit as offensive device ....

After Turkey destructed the prestige of US money source (Saudi King), The activities done within last 1/2 month;

• Trump expressed that He do not expect any objection from congress for the delivery of Turkish F35.
• Erdogan stated that Turkey, as partner of F-35, order 120 F-35 fighters.
• US gave open signal to find a solution to S-400, If Turkey order US made Patriots and Turkey gave green light with speeches of Mevlut Çavuşoglu. He told that If US offers a good deal, We may purchase some.
• Trump stated that They are preparing an effective air defence missile package that Turkish side will not reject.
• In recent days, MoND Hulusi Akar expressed that Turkey negotiates with Us for procurement of Patriot missiles.

S-400 deal worth 2,5 billion $ contains 1 regiment missile package. +1 regiment is an option but I think Turkey will not activate option but will order 4 battery Pac-3 missiles instead.

Turkey hereby will get the opportunity to study the ups and downs of the two global defence industries in the way for ''creating'' her own solution.

The third option as unique and the better in the market will draw more interest than those two with regard to its technological capabilities, cost-effectiveness and sanction free package against all threats including those two.
