Panetta wont be a happy man
he might take it on the tribal gathering like a wedding, funeral or a festival to express his frustration like previous drone strikes
there is nothing to celebrate
hope this war ends soon
These same guys will dismiss every news item from west as propaganda.. Now since they say it is an Apology they are happily consuming it.The same papers proclaimed WMD's in Iraq and complicity of Pakistan in terrorism.. Dont believe all that you read in the news papers..
btw, you didnt answer me about the actual text of the statement.. Here.. Let me help a bit
I once again reiterated our deepest regrets for the tragic incident in Salala last November. I offered our sincere condolences to the families of the Pakistani soldiers who lost their lives. Foreign Minister Khar and I acknowledged the mistakes that resulted in the loss of Pakistani military lives. We are sorry for the losses suffered by the Pakistani military. We are committed to working closely with Pakistan and Afghanistan to prevent this from ever happening again.
And as I said before, it this is a good enough apology for Pakistan, Good for you.....
It is only to satisfy the mass populace which this time around would have created havoc if Pakistan would have opened the supply lines without a fight..pakistan did not actually needed an apology from U.S , what they needed was press glory. just like when they released raymond davis.
one can interpret it anyways it want, as long as the GLOC's are being opened, U.S should be fine with it as well as pakistan. anways from the department of state press release, they feel sorry for the american military losses. just like they feel sorry for the drone attack deaths. but anyways it's all about making fool of pakistan public, including some of the readers of this forum. it just confirms that all pakistan needs is press glory.

Panetta was apparently underplaying the costs - recent reports indicate that the 7 month blockade have cost the US an additional $2.1 Billion - the $100 million additional per month figure would have put the additional cost at around $700 million - the two figures are not even close.2) I had doubts about the Northern route but didn't realize that Americans were THAT desperate to have the route opened through Pakistan. Obviously, bravado aside, the $100 million/month through NDN at Putin's mercy, was a major pain for NATO.

Just to bring in India every time is not a good escape route for one's incompetence.A Western reporter once wrote, Indians wanted to be assured of a Kargil victory and their frivolous media provided them this victory. Victims of your own makings, you dare not think other wise.

The majority of the US media is calling it an apology, which is basically what it is, arguments over semantics aside - but of course that will never be enough for the Pakistan haters (Indians) and ultra-nationalists, and in some cases those in between as well. And as I said before, it this is a good enough apology for Pakistan, Good for you.....

First you had a problem with the acute wordings and now suddenly TOI has dawned upon you.
If any body, it's you who needs some help in digesting this news, but then you are keen to digress, none the less, guess what, the party that does matter feels the pain for apologising......now work on some other equation only to comfort your self.

It seems that you consider a guy who is basing his argument on the material becomes a Pakistani hater, anyways who can stop you from what you think. The majority of the US media is calling it an apology, which is basically what it is, arguments over semantics aside - but of course that will never be enough for the Pakistan haters (Indians) and ultra-nationalists, and in some cases those in between as well.
