The US provides more to Pakistan than the Chinese do to Pakistan. Look at the remittances, aid/loans. Compare that to the $48 Billion China will invest in the next what? 6/7/10 years?

I am not saying that US hasn't done anything good for Pakistan. It has a lot of programs in Pakistan which are helping Pakistan and Pakistani citizens (directly or indirectly).

But US also gave drone attacks, terrorists after WOT from Afghanistan, embargoes and much more. You cannot just purchase someone's friendship. You have to trust them and win their trust in order to get their friendship. China have won our trust but after all these decades of cooperation, US is unable to win this trust. Its not because of Pakistan but because of actions of the US itself.

I think some where after 1970's the friendship US had with Pakistan , the dynamics changed from being on Normal grounds as allies to that of a Upper level state , and subordinate state

Not sure why it happened that way but certainly Ayub Khan enjoyed a different status under JFK vs what we saw in 70's

Its evident due to lack of visits from US head of state to Pakistan , which shows Pakistan is not top priority for USA

The problem of US is that despite whatever it does for Pakistan, there is not a single Pakistani who realizes it.

Are you aware that the single reason why India never attacked West Pakistan in 1971 was US? That US threatened Soviet Union with a war if it did not stop India from shifting its military to attack West Pakistan?

Are you aware that after US imposed sanctions on both countries, US also arranged for weapons to be transported to Pakistan from third countries?

Have you ever think why you people always talk against Pakistan (directly or indirectly)?? If you know the reason, then just come and visit Pakistan and you will realize that why Pakistani people hate US a lot. You will also know if we really care about India or not. We only think of you sometimes in the hard times when your country is involved.

We gave US Peshawar base so they could use it for spying on USSR. We helped them to get USSR out of Afghanistan in their operation cyclon. We helped them in their War on Terrorism. We allowed them to use Shamsi Air Base. We gave their NATO truck a passage through our soil. We became their major non-NATO ally because of all that cooperation we did with them.

But after all that cooperation, Pakistan has suffered more than US. You cannot attack on a country's soil which is said to be your major non-NATO ally.

You don't need the Head of State visiting to notice that your country is an important ally. Look at the visits by Military Chiefs, Sec. of State/Defense.

There is no friendship, there never was nor will be. Pakistan became the US client state in the 50s with a transactional relationship. There was no help given to Pakistan in 65 or 71 wars. Bhutto was gotten rid off for non compliance, so was the guy who was used to get rid of Bhutto. Since then the transactional relationship has been in terminal decline seeing it hit rock bottom during the American attack on Salala.

Pakistan found out that US won't help during a war, so it went nuclear. Now we don't need the US protection which changes the nature of this 'relationship, as it was build on security.

Moving forward, either this relationship has to be completely scrapped or the rules of the game have to be re written. Pakistan can no longer afford a transactional relationship with the US. It has to be either elevated to a framework agreement with full revognition of Pakistan as a regional power and the member of global nuclear club or completely scrapped.

This is the most horrible way to analyze Pakistan's international relations.
