US agencies confirm presence of Chinese troops along LoC

Why did China deny it, when Chinese troops are present across LOC. Construction or not, denial by China and confirmation by US intelligence, achieved what? Apart from more distrust?

This is an old issue, and the official position has been the same. The troops were there for flood relief before, and construction work now.

Secondly, by "increasing distrust", do you consider that to be a good thing or a bad thing?

There is an opening now for talks between India and Pakistan, while at the same time, Indian newspapers are reviving this issue in their headlines.

:pop: You don't know the China-Constitution. If National People's Congress does not allow that, PLA can not long-term presence in a foreign country. Indians may not believe that, But Chinese konw that is construction team.
Do not talk nonsense plz. China is not an imperialist country.

Seriously even if they were combat engineers they would have only weapons for self defense. Nothing larger than a SAW. I don't know why some people are so worried.

Why do bharatis treat what Americans say as some gospel truth? It's almost as if people in the US are some sort of superior beings and what they believe must be absolutely true. FBI says this, US treasury says that, CIA says this, it must be absolutely true. Or since people in the west believes this, hence it must be true. Some sort of inferiority complex?

This is the largest weapon a combat engineer would be carrying.

common sense !!

"They said these Chinese troops seemed to be involved in construction activities"

Construction activities such as what? Dams? Infrastructure (military and/or civilian)? If so, then what is wrong with it?

The headline makes it sound as if the Chinese are deploying troops along the LoC to utilize in case hostilities break out between China and India.

What kind of army builds civilian infrastructure in peace time non disaster situations..that too for another country ??

The Peoples Liberation Army has done these kind of things since its inception. Only new thing is that its in a country besides China

Its none of anyone's business what Pakistan does in its own territory.

If Indians are so worried then why to this day, India never even tried capturing Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan from Pakistan.

India can't even handle Srinagar, what makes anyone think India can handle the 100% Muslim population of Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan.

China is always welcomed in all areas of Pakistan. No matter if its Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, or Azad Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan.

:pakistan: :china:

Agreed! We know that China is a trustworthy all-weather ally, therefore, our Chinese brothers are allowed anywhere in Pakistan at anytime :)

Exactly, they are there doing construction work.

Not that China or Pakistan need to explain themselves anyway, and especially not to India.

Pakistan can invite whoever they want onto their own land.

Then why the Chinese are denying the fact can you explain the real motives :azn:

Reality is Chinese are so insecure about the countries which are in periphery and want to deal with them using a stick. The fact of the matter is it has no Stick in its hand and all it is doing is taking some aggressive moves hoping India and others will fall for its dubious pressure.

Why don't you ask the Pakistani/SriLankan/Nepalese/Bangladeshi posters on this forum, who is the neighbourhood bully. :D

We cooperate well with all those countries, one reason is because they ALL share a mutual distrust of India.

Go ahead, most Chinese people don't even know where Kashmir is. :azn:

The biggest opposition you'll get is from Pakistan I'd imagine.

Bottom line: It is pointless to ask others to respect your sensitivities, if you have never respected theirs.

I am sure you underestimate the Chinese.

They could not be that situational ignorant.
