Update on Turkish national car project

6.2 liter Magna engine with 455 PS

try to pay the taxes with my german euros its insane even for me to pay the taxes in turkey :D

if you drive 1,9 L in turkey its good actually this means you have some money for taxes..

two years ago I went there with an 4,2 L audi A8 even this Motor would be too much for turkey its not worth to pay so many money for the fun :D here in germany its about 650 Euro for a Euro 4 car Diesel for a gasoline engine you pay the half about 300 euros

a 1,9 disel would make about 300 euros and gasoline engine is about 130 euro

I dont know if I am right but the 4,2 L engine would make over 2000 euros taxes.. and I do not know if turkish government makes a difference in the engine type

.
Yeah, usually.

Hongqi HS7, the first full-sized SUV model of Hongqi brand, made its debut at the 5th World Internet Conference on Wednesday. The new model is expected to be put into market in 2019.

The HS7 inherited Hongqi’s traditional “straight waterfall type” front grille design. Two distinctive optical lenses and a C-shaped LED daytime running lights in the polygon combination headlamp add a sense of luxury and cutting-edge technology of the model. The flag-shaped emblem, matches with the red trim in the center of the grille, convey a unique and dynamic visual effect.

The HS7 will be powered by a self-developed CA6GV30TD 3.0T direct injection engine rated at 248kW with peak torque of 445 N·m. The engine is mated to an Aisin 8-speed auto transmission.

This 170.000RMB H6 Coupe (the top selling SUV brand in the country) looks manual to me, as well.

What about export success of these vehicles? All those chinese luxury automobile cars for interior market. Demand from foreign markets comes for cheap cars.
Noone would rather buy a $30k Chinese auto instead of Korean D segments.

.
Turks should go for electric vehicles in this project and gov can give subsidy for buying Turkish made ev and in future would also reduce oil imports

.
We should focus on elektric bus tir and maybe some other vehicles

What about this
image-1275708-galleryV9-ohgt-1275708.jpg

but rail based could be installed to Istanbul bridges or above the streets and if it could reach 80 kmh (on rails) than it would be a great taxi specially fully autonomous it could be safe and fast in the city

.
Heavy load using battery driven trucks.... RIP. With current tech it's not viable to do heavy duty stuff with battery.

But I still hold on to that unless we can make a standard automobile gasoline or diesel, the national car project is a hoax and will end up being too expensive for the common ppl to buy. Might as well keep going with Tofas Kartal/Dogan/Sahin. Yay :P

Yeah not for long range but for mails, internal city dilevery it would be good for air and health if dolmuş, busses., some dilevery services are electric or hybrid at least

.
Well I still believe it’s necessary to be able build something standard before taking the next step.

But in case we end up with a car like Tesla the price would probably be too high compared to Tesla and with so many other things you’d need charging stations.

.
If it's not affordable they should stop this project and invest their money and work in battery technology.

It is building up, but, the competition is too stiff and those advanced markets are hard to crack.

A similar experience that Japan and Korea had previously but they were in a very advanced geopolitical situation.

It took 20 more years for Japanese and Korean exports to the US market to achieve parity, and the US, in exchange for political subordination, agreed to suck in those sub-par products.

Toyopeds were the laughing stocks in the US. As early as the 2000s, the joke is said to be in the US is: If you want to double the value of your Hyundai, fill it up.

China, on the other hand, faces a very challenging and increasingly protectionist environment.

But, I would argue, China's automakers have done great progress. In traditional segments, it is hard to achieve a similar export penetration as Toyota or Hyundai (Hyundai has been suffering in most overseas markets recently), but China has a better chance in NEV segment.

You can meet a lot of Chinese automobiles in Ukraine. Some of them are taxi. I always ask the drivers what their opinions are . I haven't met content and satisfied car owners yet. Once I my self witnessed how strange sounds were coming from gear box. Chinese automobiles are renowned for their cheap price and respectively bad quality. I would rather 5 years old Turkish Fiat Linea over Chinese geely or chery or etc. Even there are a Chinese clone of toyota land cruiser and Lexuss that cost 25k, but I am always skeptical. I would give ten years old land cruiser 25k but never would give any penny to clones.

The problem Chinese manufacturers will meet in the West, is that Chinese goods are usually seen as cheap and inferior. Even if they are not, like with Smartphones etc. So your companies need to work on that.

The advantage is, that your domestic market is big enough to support multiple brands without any exports.

Frankly, that's a very old model. Currently not available in first hand market. Probably already went to recycling. Now Land Wind has a new line up.

This is just 60.000-80.000RM. Villagers' car.

For more original design looking persons (with automatic transmission), there are many other alternatives.

Such as a mid-size 4x4 SUV from Beijing Auto. BJ40. But needs some 170.000-200.000RMB:

You may try a full sized 7-seater SUV, GS8 from GAC Motors:

Or, their MPV, GM8:

Or, you may indulge yourself, and go for an elegant Red Flag (Hongqi H5) sedan:

Or, you can even go for a hybrid and get this after spending 500.000RMB NIO ES8 with a cute AI assistant.

Or, you can go full electric with Dragon Face BYD Tang - 0-100 4.3sec:

You see, there are alternatives and I have not come even to half of it.

All the best with the first national car. I remember the first before this current first looked suspiciously inspired from somewhere else. But, that's how the business goes. One got to start from somewhere.
The reason of aborting the first land wing must have been copyrights. Global companies are compelling . To be honest newer land wing or other last models aren't nearly as interesting as the former which looks like range Rover. as Having range Rover is boasting, I look up to perfect copy of it. Anyway you should have written prices in usd. We arent eager to calculate and convert meticulously .

You know that was an early model. They do not make them anymore.

In China, the problem is not that there is not enough manufacturers. The problems is that there are too many of them.

Ideally, China's domestic car market should consolidate into 8-10 major brands. That should be enough for a country with an annual market of 30.000.000 units sold.

The rest, smaller players, including Land Wind, should either reduce business and specialize in some auto parts or move to another segment, such as farm equipment, which has less design demands.

By the way, Land Wind still makes pretty decent cars for villagers. This is just 6K.

I think the task for Turkish producers is first to concentrate on the low end and then slowly climb the manufacturing chain.

Competition is too stiff and cut throat, there are pretty strong, 100+ year-old players there like like Benz, Chevrolet or Toyota.

Anyway you should have written prices in usd. We arent eager to calculate and convert meticulously .

In USD, it is about 6:1. So, 150.000RMB would be 30.000USD (which is roughly 150.000TRY, as well.
