Purely on proven track record, my money is on Iran in case of a war. Pakistan has never won a war. Iran on the other hand won a ten year war against Saddam and a very powerful Iraqi army. As long as you guys do not go nuclear, Pakistan cannot bring that card to the table. And we know where the Russians would weigh in. And Pakistan no longer has the American counterweight. You should feel justly bullish about this.

Same experience with me.. I have Indian friends and they are good until you start to discuss Pakistan and Indias situation...some will be saner and logical but others will turn very abusive and cynical ...though they can't get violent in my presence due to my physical appearance but I guess if I wasn't so some of them may have fancied manhandling me

A person was killed and two others injured when mortar shells, reportedly fired by Iranian border guards, hit a vehicle in Panjgoor district of Balochistan near Pak-Iran border on Sunday.

A senior district administration official, who wished not be named, told DawnNews that Iranian border guards reportedly fired nine mortar shells into Pakistani territory.

“One mortar shell hit a civilian vehicle near the Pak-Iran border in Panjgoor district,” he said. The incident resulted in the death of one individual while two others were injured who were rushed to nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment.

"This was an act of unprovoked firing committed by Iranian border forces," the official said. Without any justification and in complete violation of our territorial integrity Iran fired mortar shells in Pakistani area, the officer maintained. Frontier Corps personnel also reached the spot as investigation into the attack went underway. Security was tightened around the border by Pakistani security forces after Iranian violation. Iranian border guards have been repeatedly firing mortar shells and rockets into Pakistani territory for the past few years. Islamabad has repeatedly lodged protest in the regard, but to no avail.

Yes, Iran does support (financially and materially) Pakistani Shia Madrassahs and Shia organizations ... But can you quote a few examples/incidents when these organizations had carried out terror attacks against the PA, the state of Pakistan, or innocent Pakistani civilians ?

They have a very different setup and a chauvinistic orthodox government that is very harsh on smugglers, terrorists and criminals. Iran should understand that for a country much poorer than Iran it is difficult to control such elements. But the Iranian perspective should be noted too. They think the border is too poorly managed by Pakistan and harmful elements use it for illegal activities.
