I respect your opinion and feeling and all that, but you are mistaken if you think that personal interests of leaders of Pakistan are weakness of ordinary Pakistani ......... No none of them is a better Muslim than us Pakistanis, nor Iranians not Saudis, unless they exceed us in good deeds. Just because they are rich or they are that doesn't warrant that we are second class Muslims. It is difficult for me to describe this because of that gap of understanding the situation as a Muslim and looking at it as a non Muslim. None of them has achieved what we have achieved despite all that corrupt leaders and regimes, its just matter of time and day when Pakistan would be run by people who deserve to rule it and not by self serving thugs.
I appreciate how you think. But do you believe many think like that in Pakistan? What section, percentage? In this thread itself we have seen much to the contrary. As well on other threads which become sectarian and ugly pretty quickly. And you guys do it in front of us. We (Indians) have obvious regional and caste faultlines as well. But I believe we control it much better here. Maybe we are better at controlling our emotions and passions and have a better understanding of time and place. Maybe our faultlines do not run as deep. I'll accept that the two of us would have different opinions on that.
But what I do agree with, and what I too strongly believe, is that this whole Muslim ME thing is an old war. Older than Islam itself. And it is unfinished. The whole sectarian bit is a hauwwa. But it is my belief, that my country and yours (probably yours a lot more than mine, but mine has other tempering influences so we'll probably never know) have largely bought into this hauwwa, enthusiastic pawns, not understanding the older racial origins. Origins we have zero part of or in. Would have been hilarious if it weren't so deadly.
