It depends on what kind of policy you are looking at and see as important.

For me, law and border security are number 1, living standard and affordability come second, both were better during Republican than Democrats.

But if you are asking "What did the republican do" my answer is nothing, same as the democrats, American politics is not party leading politics, which mean the winning party takes all, US politics is a bipartisan politic, meaning things will not get done until compromise were made, meaning nothing ever will get done, US government has not worked as a whole probably since 1980s.
