2 to 5m in gold - how many guns would that equate to.?

If you read the reports the soldiers didn't receive all their compensation in gold. However, don't you think the "street price" of a Kalishnikov would be very low under the circumstances? If they weren't sold back to the rebels then the piles of weapons would have been destroyed.
