UN: major Chinese cities at same level of development as developed countries

Yes, their railway is the one of the most deadly, two derailments in one week last month.
They really have to do something.....
However, I see no changes after Trump being elected, his team is still largely hijacked by military complex and big bankers.

US rail is more geared toward cargo. otherwise most fly. but the lack of high speed passenger rail (at least in the northeast corridor and san fran. to LA) is a failure of the state to make it happen for 40+ years now.

Detroit is one of many American cities that is close to the shape of Detroit. These places are inhabited mainly by Hispanics and blacks

Some houses in Detroit is selling for $1 but no one's buying them.
Let's not pick on Hispanics and blacks, keep your eye on the ball and understand who the real adversaries is.

.
Developed countries? Which ones? Greece, spain, italy, Portugal or Ireland .?

I do not see any city in these so called developed countries is as modern and advanced as Shanghai or Hong Kong.

It would be a shame for Chinese cities to be compared with the likes of Athens or Rome.
Can't be helped. Some humans are too stupid.

. .
No need to beat a dead horse. Everyone knows chinese first and second tier cities are world class. Can people post photos of 3rd and 4th tier cities?

. .
The president-elect Donald Trump on Infrastructure:

Our airports are like from a Third World country,” Trump ranted. “You land at LaGuardia, you land at Kennedy, you land at LAX, you land at Newark, and you come in from Dubai and Qatar and you see these incredible ― you come in from China, you see these incredible airports, and you land ― we’ve become a Third World country.”

It's just because their airports are older and were built in the 20s and 30s.
In 50 years time, other countries will have newer looking airports than China.

Man you Chinese are something to be taken lessons from. Nobody can match your growth the way you did in 3-4, decades. We are developing but will take a real time to reach your levels.
But I've seen all this construction leading to ghost towns in China.
I think Chinese should calm down a little they got a little emotional on construction thing :D:china:

"I've seen" or "heard from western corporate media"?
It's quite funny to see them label a district UNDER CONSTRUCTION FOR THE FUTURE as a "ghost city".
If you have some interest to hear from an independent journalist working in China,
pls refer to his book https://www.amazon.com/Ghost-Cities...0903808&sr=8-1&keywords=ghost+cities+in+china

I don't think China should "calm down" any little bit.
China is a big country, urbanisation rate is ONLY around 50%.
There is huge potential from 50% to 80%.
10,000km HSRs are being built
N*10,000km control-accessed expressways are being built
Several hundred subways are being built
Thousands of medical centres, schools, stadiums, shopping centres are being built.
AND IT'S TOO SLOW because China is a big country with hundreds of cities and towns.

Ghost towns?

What ghost towns?

We do know there are lots of ghost cities, neighbourhoods and towns in the US.

Detroit is a good case in point where one often can't sell a decent-sized property for ONE mighty dollar. :enjoy:

But in China? Pls don't make yourself easily brainwashed by western propaganda machines/idealogical rants.:lol:

There is no consensus of classification of cities except for the big 4 in tier one.
But some cities measured in this survey are not normally regarded as tier 2 cities, for example some capitals of Southwestern provinces, such as Kunming and Guiyang (some people think they are "lower tier 2")

I can show you some cities of tier 3/4 according to the criteria of http://multimedia.scmp.com/2016/cities/
I'll choose citer/3/4 cities not in Coastal China to show the development of the interior.
Because even a non-tier county town in Coastal China will look like a super city.

Pls refer to #39.
There are significant differences of definition of cities between in China and abroad.
(A city in China= a real city + several counties)
We usually do not talk about the tiers of a county and the main towns of a county.
But these county townships are de facto small cities, can be classified as tier 4/5 or no tier if too small.
(A county=the main county town+ several more rural towns/townships)

Zunyi County, Guizhou Province, Southwest China
You can see the rural townships at the beginning and the main county town at the end

I don't think they will rebuild their railways....
I know most railways in US are for cargo trains, but still, those freight railways look terrible, no fences, dangerous crossings, lack of maintenance, etc.
After half a century, we'll rebuild old infra just like what we are doing today.

Thanks; even a town in China is so developed. I was in Hangzhou this March and really like its landscaping.
