Sri Lanka should also go on diplomatic offensive while it's friends in Islamabad, Beijing and elsewhere will continue to support them diplomatically during these tense and interesting times.


it actually boggles my mind that the indians would vote against Sri Lanka @ UN on issue of ''human rights'' when india is one of the largest violators of human rights in the 21st century......ask the average Kashmiri on either side of the LoC and they'll vouch for that.

Indians can vote in competitive elections, freely petition their government to address grievances, run media organizations with minimal censorship and access the Internet freely.

I'm actually a big fan of Chinese civilization and think China missed a big opportunity in 1898 to modernize and stop the advance of Japanese and Western Imperialists, and I am very happy for your economic development. But is being free only to buy truly freedom?

Freedom is the freedom to say that 2 and make four. If that is granted, all else follows.
