Ukraine-Russia War: Sanctions shut down Russian SAM production plant - GUR

There is none for controle units. Germany rules that market almost 100%

Whatever control units you are talking about, how are the Chinese building their weapons? I doubt the Chinese are dependent on anybody and their weapons now a days are better than the Russians.

Russia isnt China. Russia is a poor 3rd world country with very limited tech knowledge.

And how would switching to China better their situation? They are already a chinese colony.

Mate go spew your sensational nonsense elsewhere. Russia is not a 3rd world country, neither do they have "very limited tech knowledge". No need to enagage with me further. Thanks.

I think he is joking.... Can't be serious.

Have you ever visited Russia? Yes or no?

Its a very poor country with very low infrastructure. Has low life expectancy almost 10 years lower than developed world. They have no own technology left. No computer tech, no genetic tech. Its all imported from abroad.

You cant compare Russia to western europe, usa, japan or china for example.

I think he is joking.... Can't be serious.

Im not joking. Russia is underdeveloped in almost evry field. Thats a fact. You are free to name a tech field where Russia is leading. You wont find any.

Yeah but chips were also there during the USSR time. I don't know why they couldn't continue their chip production for military use till this day.
There is a difference between making something work via electronics engineering and via solid state components like semiconductor 'chips' that works with software.

With electronics engineering, you would be working mainly with resistors, capacitors, transistors, and diodes, the basic components of electronics engineering, to make something do whatever you want. The early ICBMs, like the 1950s and 1960s, had electronics engineering for guidance systems. The MIG-25 used vacuum tubes. Radars once had vacuum tubes. What we called 'chips' back then really were electronics components miniaturized into a package for size and efficiency. They were not really transistors created on a silicon wafer like we know 'chips' today.

large portions of Russia are 3rd worldish maybe not in economic standards but in technological standards

I am perplexed the Russians depend on foreign components to produce their weapons. The USSR had a full industrial chain to produce their weapons, they didn't depend on anybody. Why changed?

USSR never produced semiconductors close to the quality and sophistication of the West. It was the main reason the cold war ended.

It did not end due to cavemen in Afghanistan as claimed by keyboard mullah warriors.

Collapse of the Soviet economy broke those internal self-reliant supply chains

same propaganda clown media said russia ran out of missiles a few weeks ago, but all we're seeing now is ukraine getting pounding by more missiles harder than before :D

The chip production sucked.
The USSR became very good at writing compilers since the computer chips all had defects. Note that these were not design defects, but defects due to poor manufacturing, so each chip came with an individual buglist which was fed into the compiler,
You had to compile a program for this specific chip.
The code could not be moved to another unit, since the bug list was different.

Not only weapons Russia relies on imports. Russian aircraft can’t fly. Russian gas, oil industry will struggle to deliver. Russia does not have the complex industrial chain like Germany. You need millions of pieces to build oil, gas infrastructure. Germany has 2 million enterprises they can deliver technology and expertise. How many enterprises has Russia in total?
During the Cold War there were lots of cooperations between USSR and the West. USSR could import Western technology. Now under Putin new Cold War the cooperation between the blocs will go down to zero.
