Almost 90% of APPKG memebrs belong to the Labour party which is Powerless. The less than 10% who are from Conservative party are all those members whose constituency have a large Pakistani origin population such as Stoke on Trent.

Thus while the ruling Conservative party is pro India, it is the weaker Labour party which is not in power that is pro Pakistan.

More importantly APPGs do Not have any official status in UK Parliament so their works have no value unlike that of Parliament commitees.

Out of the 25 MPs (less than 4% of British Parliament strength) that attended the APPG meet, 23 were from Labour and only 2 conservatives.

Also British Parliament website itself mentions APPGs are informal groups & have no official status.
