UCLA Student Video Rant Against Asians

I don't think she was being racist. However she was certainly generalizing and could be culture clashing as well. It has been blown out of proportion though.

No one should take her seriously. Just some college student ranting.

I think she just opened the door of fame for some Asian students.
By the way, mocking the way ethnic minorities speak and publically making a mockery of their culture are forms of racial attacks.

.
So......you decided to prove your point against the girl by behaving EXACTLY like her? Talk about being self-contradictory.

What are you trying to prove exactly?

Also, your post does not do justice to your username.

Thanbk you. You just proved my point.

. .
when americans say asians they mean central asians

not us

Now you've proved why asians have been regarded as ''Confused Decis.'' Asians are also regarded as Coconut people - White from inside, Brown from outside.

I think she was just ranting not to be taken seriously enough that a university of 40,000 had to release a statement on it. The imitation of the language was certainly uncalled for. The others seem like observations. I make them from time to time too just other things i notice of different races. If what she observed being true or false i don't have any comment on.

You don't think it to be offensive because it is directed against chinese students. But you start crying foul when the same thing is done by

Austrailians to Indian students in Austrailia. If you realize they (Austrailians) also have similar complaints like Indians are very smelly, they stink so much that the hostels and apartment buildings they live in also start to stink like .

Probably the Indian students become home sick if they live in a cleaner, non-stinky environment for long, and its out of love for their country that they spread the stink every where they go..

good post brother. very good post.

So miming Chinese to mock Japanese student concerned about the safety of their families in Japan is cool with you?

Casual racism is still racism. Considering how many Indians were screaming for blood over this (even to the point of issuing a diplomatic complaint), I find their nonchalance about what the girl did pretty hollow and hypocritical.

Cardsharp mate do you have any idea how many of these rants are posted on youtube on a daily basis? There are rants about pretty much every race in the world. What you just posted was broadcasted on a television channel. You don't think a youtube rant and tv show host making racist remarks is the same thing do you?

What was your point exactly? If it was to assert that the comments were racist, then you chose an incredibly stupid way of proving your point, which is, by being racist yourself.

No! I was not being racist, I was trying to explain to you in a simpler and practical manner.
My point was that you did not find her comments to be racist because they were directed towards Chinese, but you found my similar comments about indians to be racist. Now you see where self-contradiction is coming from.

 You have no idea about Australia or Indian students in Australia. Australian universities are not on campus like the American ones. Barely any Indian student live in "hostels" here. The attacks on Indian students were just opportunistic crimes committed by thugs who btw in 95% of the cases were non white ethnic migrant themselves. Don't ever show up in Australia mate, bullshyte artists like yourself get belted here on daily basis.

They both represent sick, insensitive individuals, one earlier in her life seeking a professional careeer, other later in life during his professional career. I assume you do not find such objectionable behaviour on Indian tv channels.........

I think racism everywhere is deplorable. Does a racist message become more or less racist depending on the venue?

The thing is though the standards expected on television is much tighter, the basic message is not more or less racist depending where it is shown and that's the question I'm trying to answer. Is it racist? NOT Is this level of racism acceptable on TV or is it more acceptable on youtube?

Racism is deplorable indeed. But its one of the side effects of multicultural societies. For every racist person in a society there is at least ten non racist people who are happy to give you a fair go though? Reverse the scenario, loads of American students being loud and drunk in a Chinese university dorm. How would we "Eastern people" react to this western behaviour?

He is just trying to do his patriotic duty by trying to suck up to the Chinese.

Let him be.
