UAE-made UAV appeals

.
You are talking about the old one, with the one engine.
Well I am talking about the ratio. 1500/1000 kg i.e. 2/3. Its absolutely impossible. Usually ratio is 1/4 - 1/3:

Heron-1 - 1,150/250 kg
Heron TP - 4,650/1,000 kg
Hermes 450 - 550/180 kg
Reaper - 4,760/1,700 kg
Grey Eagle - 1,633/360 kg
Predator - 1,020/340 kg

.
Correct.

But unlike all these others UAV, the wings of the ‘Union 40 UAV’ are more long.

I guess they can therefore support more weight (physical law). In addition, there is also more space available, internal weapons bay, also inside this UAV.

Yabhon-Namrod UAV Warhead

Displayed alongside the United 40 is a new weapon intended for use with the UAV. The Yabhon-Namrod has been designed by Adcom to be carried internally on an eight-round rotary launcher. It has a straight wing that swivels into position on launch, and a small jet engine that can power the weapon to around 620 mph over a range of around 37 miles.

Yabhon-Namrod weighs about 66 pounds. The warhead is based on that of a standard 100mm artillery round. A range of guidance methods could be employed, including infrared and laser, as well as GPS/inertial.

United 40 can carry up to 10 powered precision bombs, with four carried externally on pylons under the rear wing, and six more on an internal launcher.

The weapons have a swivelling wing and a small jet engine.

Well concept is interesting. Originally it supposed to have one push propeller with hybrid engine. Now they switched to two regular engines with two propellers. That's less effecient than one. I doubt it will fly for 100 hours and 1000 kg of load for this size UAV is obviously way overstretched.

let me remind you two propeller uav's are nothing new india Rustom is also a endurance UAV and has 2 propellers also your panther UAV.

I dont unduerstand why this is rocket science to u, it simple
this is a standard calculation for all UAV

Max takeoff = empty weight+payload weight

for united 40 is
1500=520+1000

HERMES2G is
650=450+150

IAI MALAT MASTIFF is
180=72+37

IAI MALAT SCOUT is
194=96+38

there is variation of 10-15% from scouting to endurance UAV.

let us say United40 is just more efficient with this formula:azn:
hence a better UAV.

Its you who cant understand that no UAV in the world has 2/3 payload/max take off ratio.

Max takeoff = empty weight+payload weight
:no:

Max takeoff = empty weight+payload weight+fuel.

:no:

Max takeoff = empty weight+payload weight+fuel.

Its hybrid :azn: fuel efficient uav..........one more reason to call United 40 "Efficient"

there is naval research program "Ultra Endurance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Heavy Fuel Engine Program"

under progress wait and watch:cheers:

Now we need to start employing these babies in "targeted killing" operations against American and Israeli targets.
After all, this is dubbed legal by both entities, and in the words of Bush, the whole planet is a battlefield.

I think that we don’t take the problem of the good way.

Now, ‘United 40 Block 5’ can carry up to ‘10 Namrod precision missiles weighs about 66 pounds’, with four carried externally on pylons under the rear wing, and six more on an internal weapons bay. It represents 660 pounds (300 kilograms) of payload.

But, ‘United 40 UAV Block 5’ is clearly able to carry more weapons, missiles or bombs (GBU Paveway or Joint Direct Attack Munition). It’s only a question of type to engine used for propulsion. It's not a immense difficulty. Look…

The Yabhon United 40 aircraft is exhibited at the Idex festival in the capital last month. The UAE-made unmanned drone can cruise at speeds of up to 220kph and will cost up to $30 million.

UAE's unmanned drone passes test flight

The first unmanned aerial vehicle designed and made in the UAE has passed its test flight.

Ali Al Dhaheri, designer of the Yabhon United 40 - named in honour of our 40 years of union - said test flights in Abu Dhabi last week were successful and the aircraft, known as a UAV, was ready for production.

It can carry up to 10 air-to-ground missiles with a delivery range of 60 kilometres each and fly for up to 120 hours.

"This UAV was presented at Idex 2013 [International Defence Exhibition] and as soon as we received approval from the aviation authorities, we conducted the tests," said Mr Al Dhaheri, the chief designer and chairman of Adcom Systems. "The tests have proved all the capabilities the UAV was designed for."

A drone will cost between US$20 million (Dh73.5m) and $30m.

"We are expecting sales of $500m this year and about $41.5 billion over the next few years for this aircraft," Mr Al Dhaheri said.

The planes can cruise at speeds of between 75 and 220kph, fly to 7,010 metres and are powered by a 115-horsepower main engine and an 80hp electric engine.

The United 40 is designed for strategic missions that include combat and battle damage assessment, intelligence preparation of a battlefield, special and reconnaissance operations, humanitarian aid, border surveillance and communications relay.

During last month's Idex event, Mr Al Dhaheri said that Adcom potentially had contracts with seven countries, from the Arabian Gulf and Europe.

"Our manufacturing industries are advanced - Israel and the US are the only countries who can manufacture similar drones," he said.

Over the past 24 years, Abu Dhabi-based Adcom has progressed from building missiles to developing strategic radars. It now also creates advanced communication systems.

There are many questions about the presented spec for this UAV. by all means 100 hrs is not something you should accept very easy. lets have a simple calculation:

Cruise speed 75-220 km/h

lets say we take 75 km/h as best option for fuel consumption, with 100 hrs you will end up with 7500 km range ! just too much for UAV, let alone the high payload which will affect the endurance.

In all cases i hope this is really the case but lets wait for an evaluation from different sources.
