Those Arabs are the only people to date that have fought against Israel. The only people that have fought against the USA superpower as much. Iraq alone has fought two devastating wars against the US. A bunch of Arab teenagers (supposedly) harmed the US more than any other entity in the world since WW2. Poorly armed Syrians are fighting against another superpower (Russia) in Syria.

The UAE has been there before and was respected greatly, as were the Turks. The regular Afghans saw them as brothers, the Taliban never targeted them.

Way before than even the majority of European powers, Turkish forces were among the first ones in Afghanistan, particularly in the north of country and areas with Özbek and Turkmen population via intelligence apparatus during pre-9/11 under the banner of Northern Alliance and through Army SF right after 9/11 under Operation Enduring Freedom laterly ISAF and now RSM.

As for the UAE, I think that Turkey should have vetoed UAE’s participation to RSM.
