Mahinda protected the one that survived and the incident was swept under the carpet.

As Gibbs pointed out he brought his entire family into government jobs and most of them are unqualified. It was his brother in law that destroyed the National Airline and its management is bloated with political appointments and its losses are in millions of dollars. He had affairs with air hostesses and he is hated by its staff, many pilots and workers left it because of him.

The list goes on like one of our best diplomats who talked for Sri Lanka in front of the world was attacked by one of Mahinda's close politicians(The politician is currently being remanded because the new govt opened his old cases).
In the end it was the Diplomat that retired and nothing was done against that fat thug until the government changed.

He destroyed Sathosa with his corruption, held close connections with Raj Rajaratnam who was jailed for fraud, and ridiculed our security forces when they were fighting the LTTE. This thief and amoral goon has now been appointed Minister of Finance by Ranil and Sirisena. So much for appointing "qualified persons" to do the job.

You don't know shit. Have you even been to a developed country? NY subway is not the same everywhere. In neighbourhood where good communities live, the subway is also clean but in neighbourhoods where low income communities live, it is full of litter. The same goes with London tube. Not realistic but a perfect solution. I lost all the hope I had on the country after staying for few weeks. Sri Lanka will always remain in the third world regardless of whoever rules.

That is just one of the minor problems, I see a lot of potential in a new generation of politics and they have better ideas and a better vision than the current generation. The people can be easily fooled by politicians and they blindly follow them.


The political culture affects development and if you look at it only a few politicians are genuinly interested in development.
The next generation is much more different, they are much more open minded and doesn't have party politics and most of them will not be fooled by propaganda and they can see the cults that worship politicians.

But most of all they don't follow stupid nationalistic views and become blind chauvinists and they support change and development and that is what we want

I want to see them leading the country after Mahinda ,Ranil and all the outdated politicians go.........
