The powers that be will never willingly regulate or reform themselves. They'd rather the country burn than see their gravy train stopped. It has to be imposed upon them, either through civil war/revolution/favourable politcal conditions with devastatingly low public support. I hope the latter but even then the apathy I see now isn't inspiring confidence.

Revolution can happen only within the establishment itself. A group of like-minded individuals, within the establishment, must come together and act in order to save the country.

Even if this means eliminating other factions of the establishment that are deemed dangerous to the country, or even treacherous. For it seems the current faction most powerful within the establishment has abandoned national interests altogether for financial benefit.

The sad thing is they can’t see the small pond they live in and the limited gravy train they are hoarding can be carefully reinvested back into the country (as well as pivot to a new foreign policy strategy) to become like South Korea, a 50 fold increase in wealth in only a couple generations. They don’t have to give up their privileges, except for a few years.

5-10 years of sacrifice is all it will take, if other reforms are also made, to completely transform the country.

It’s the younger members of the elite that will have to bring their boomer parents kicking a screaming into the reality of the world, kind of like MBS has done for Saudi Arabia, in hopes of being able to get ready to thrive in it.

South Korea had 40 million + people with strong influences from Chinese/Japanese culture. Of course they had a patron saint in Uncle Sam.

Pakistan has its native culture and Pre-Zia Islamic practices it can return, which overlap with the practices in Central Asia and Kashmir. Pakistan can also rebuild its relationship through a convergence of interests around access to Central Asia.

The success of BRI depends on not just Chinese traffic moving through the transport infrastructure, but all kinds of traffic, to keep costs down. Also, the faster nations develop on China’s borders increases markets for Chinese products. The more FDI these nations get, the faster they can develop.

The US is coming to Central Asia one way or another, but if Pakistan has a decent relationship with the US, it bodes well for the success of the flagship of BRI; CPEC, and Chinese investment/loans/contracts can continue to be given to Pakistan, if so desired by the Pakistani side.

As geography of Afghanistan, can not be ignored in any economic prospects for all nations in central Asia with Pakistan.

In current time, Russia is providing economical life-line to central Asian countries through roads and train link with Moscow and did have strengthen its dependency policy since long time.

Central Asian countries and Afghanistan has same cultural and religion attachment with Pakistan.

Just think about the Scenario, If OIL and Gas pipe lines, Good roads and train links, modern infrastructure build in between these nations how much Pakistan would gain power in the whole region.

Everyone will benefit from it from win win situation for all parties.

Port access for export and import plus industrial revolution and energy distribution among all countries. It will create a strongest economic zone.
