Leading US defence companies will invest in development of Ukrainian military-industrial complex. Arrangements were made during the visit of UKROBORONPROM leaders to United States. UKROBORONPROM Director General Roman Romanov mentioned that US experience and technology will accelerate the process of Ukrainian military-industrial complex reforming.

“Direct investment and cooperation with world’s leading arms producers will ensure Ukraine transition to international standards and reorientation to new markets,” – said Roman Romanov.

During negotiations, UKROBORONPROM Western partners assured that American society and business are ready to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine.

On Tuesday, March 24, The US Congress adopted resolution, appealing to President Barack Obama to give Ukraine lethal weapon. Resolution was supported by 348 members of Congress, the absolute majority.

One of USA-Ukrainian cooperation priorities is import substitution of Russian spare parts and full independence of Ukrainian defence enterprises from Russian defence industry.

In addition, partnership formation with world's leading defence companies will strengthen Ukraine’s international authority and deepen cooperation with NATO member countries.

In march 2015, Ukraine took delivery of 10 US Humvee armored vehicles, two days after American lawmakers voted to urge President Barack Obama to provide "lethal" aid to Kiev.

In total, the US plans to send 200 regular Humvees, radios, counter-mortar radars and other non-lethal equipment worth $75 million.

As for making a living, I wonder whether the defence sector is the only industry which could bring in cash for the Ukrainians... Just saying.

We shouldn't question Russian concerns given the Cold War history. After all, the Americans have disintegrated mother Russia before our very eyes. I wonder how the US would react if the Russians today invested in the defence sector of US neighbours... Suspiciously hostile to say the least.

like for instance who? I would welcome Russia and the West defense cooperation. especially in missile defense. it would show them that it's not targeted at them or China, but at rouge nations like North Korea and Iran.

Yeah they will "help".Kiev has just sacked general designer of one of the Kharkov MIC plants(the same one used to produce T-34 and T-64) for refusing to cave in and signed contract with USA company/companies for producing IFV/APC at 50% of the real value.New boss(with no knowledge in design -for first time in entire history of that plant) immidiately put in position from Kiev has zero problem signing the contract.
