U.S commando killed in raid to free hostages of ISIS in Iraq

Seriously man? No one is buying that. Saddam Hussain was no angel but you would have to agree that Iraq has fared far worse since his ouster than when he was in power. Same in Libya & Syria.

Its a known fact that Iraq use to have an active Chemical weapons programme and now Syria has opened the chemical weapons investigation.

Everyone had some sort of active chemical weapons program, including India. Means nothing. There has been more damage due to the invasion than if all the chemical weapons produced in Iraq & Syria were used.

Chemical weapons were used by Saddam in Iraq long before the invasion.

The Defense Department on Friday identified the soldier killed during a commando raid in Iraq.

Master Sgt. Joshua L. Wheeler, 39, died Thursday in Iraq’s Kirkuk province from wounds received by enemy small-arms fire, according to the DoD announcement.

Wheeler, who joined the Army in 1995, was assigned to Headquarters, U.S. Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina

He is the first American service member killed in action by enemy fire while fighting Islamic State militants.

Wheeler, who was from Roland, Oklahoma, joined the Army as an infantryman. He served in the 75th Ranger Regiment, deploying three times to support combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, before being assigned to USASOC headquarters. He deployed 11 times after that to Iraq and Afghanistan, according to information released by USASOC.

Wheeler died from enemy gunfire near Hawijah, Iraq.

He was part of a team of dozens of U.S. special operations troops who joined Kurdish peshmerga fighters in a predawn raid of a detention facility run by the Islamic State group.

The U.S. and Kurdish forces killed several Islamic State militants and detained five others, defense officials have said.

In addition to Wheeler, four peshmerga soldiers were wounded.

The raid freed about 70 hostages whose lives officials said were in imminent dange

America needs to see the light and stop helping isis and the terrorists.

Sure and you were the ground inspector. Hindustani Hans Blix.
Yeah, Right.
Hans Blix is from Sweden...

That are internal problems.

Iraqis, Libyans and Syrians need to figure out how to run a country without a dictator
and without repressing other groups in their society.

They got a chance to move to a better society, and collectively blew it.

WMD's were there as Iraq was having a Chemical weapons and there were reports that the chemical weapons were shifted to Syria.

Even recently there were reports that Chemical weapons were used by ISIS in Iraq.

That's what happens when you only read mainstream media and copy/paste them here and do nothing else.

The whole Iraqi invasion by U.S was based on a hoax and ironically many American officials have admitted that Bush lied, so I think you better study more, read some books, instead of reading Reuters/CNN... 24/7, otherwise, it will lead to more embarrassment.

That is irrelevant to the point I was making. That these countries are worse off now. Not debating the reasons though it was mighty naive of anyone to think that these people would simply take to democracy like a duck to water.

Even a much more stable society like Egypt could not handle democracy well. In the absence of a constitution guaranteeing the rights of individuals & having protection for minorities, all you were ever going to get was mobocracy -the rule of the mob. In any non-secular country (and none of these were going to be secular democracies), democracy would just turn into a method of oppressing the minorities. That was what happened in Iraq & resulted in a Sunni rebellion, it is what happened pretty much everywhere in the region where governments were toppled.

Saddam Husseins behaviour before the Iraqi Invasion,
playing cat & mouse with U.N. Inspectors,
was not that smart, was it?

The pressure from leftist movements in the West to unconditionally terminate sanctions vs
an insane mass-murderer was a major cause of the invasion.
Without that, I bet the sanctions would have just continued until Saddam
got his act together and started cooerating properly.

I don't shed a single tear for Saddam Hussein. He was the bastard he was. The problem is western hypocrisy. They attacked Iraq based on a lie, but when he was actually using chemical weapons in mass numbers against Iran and Kurds in Iraq, those westerners were dead silent, not only that, but also western Germany supplied Iraq with more raw materials for chemical weapons.
