U.S. agrees over troop withdrawal from Afghanistan: Taliban

KABUL: The United States agreed to pull troops out of Afghanistan during peace talks, said Taliban officials.

Suhail Shaheen, spokesperson for the Taliban’s political office based in Qatar, said on Twitter where that “the U.S. would pull troops out of the country and would stop interfering in the country”. But he didn’t elaborate about the time of the drawdown.

Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. special representative for Afghan reconciliation is to hold the seventh round of talks with the Taliban in the next coming days in the Qatari capital of Doha.

The U.S. troop withdrawal is one of important issues that U.S.-Taliban talks focused on. Taliban in response, are said to guarantee that Afghanistan would not be used again by international terrorist networks to threaten the US and its allies’ security.

Since September 2018, Mr. Khalilzad had six rounds of the talks with the Taliban, but the group refused to meet the Afghan government and also did not announce ceasefire.

As peace talks heat up, widespread combat between the government forces and the Taliban insurgents continues across the country. The bloodshed claims live of dozens each day.

Hamdullah Mohib, National Security Advisor to President Ashraf Ghani, on Tuesday acknowledged at a security meeting in Russia that at least 50 security forces per day lose their lives to the violence.

The rise of taliban will be good for the region. We should support them in establishing an independent state based on wishes of Afghan people. Afghanistan have been used by international powers too much. Its time they prosper and benefit from regional connectivity. An afghan taliban led government in Afghanistan would be acceptable to russia and china, the main regional superpowers.
I know Pakistani establishment will not want a fully taliban takeover of Afghanistan, because of worries of copycat ideologies in Pakistan. But they should fully support an Afghan taliban led govt in Afghanistan. It will be very beneficial for us and breaks indian dreams. It will free our western reach up untill Turkey.

So president of Afghanistan is coming to Pakistan for reason...he will ask Pakistan for support to stay in Pakistan or under Pakistani security umbrella in Afghanistan...I hope Afghanistan will see peace but I dont think so.. Pashtun will take revenge from old north allies which took side with USA in war..I hope and i pray to God people of Afghanistan with live in peace

And if my dream is to come true the artificial country of Afghanistan , created just to be a buffer, peacefully assimilates and Unites with its historical brethren of Pakistan , while the Turkmen and krgyz areas can go back to their own mother lands,

But now it is up to Pakistan to fix its economy asap to be have some power when the Americans leave , if this front is secured then the eastern neighbours will now have to deal with 120k plus more fully battle hardened Pakistani troops now free from the western border

Yes, the big fear is the presence of an American base to 'train the Afghans'.

This base will be used to threaten Pakistani Nuclear assets, and threaten CPEC by supporting the 'freedom of the Baluchi' people at the right time.

Most Americans want out. They have accepted that the nation building experiment in Afghanistan has been a failure and that afghanistan is not key to USA counter terrorism goals...(9/11 was planned in Germany). They will move their engagement in Afghanistan to a civil support role.
