Right now there is restructuring of the entire armed forces including the Air Force.
For instance F-15Cs and Ds won't serve past 2020 maximum most likely will be replaced by the EF Typhoon but the EF Typhoon is originally set to replace the F-5s not F-15Cs and Ds.
Also the F-15SA is not to replace any Jet it is just to increase the number of the deep strike aircrafts.

Typhoon is diffidently taken with Air Superiority in mind even though its Air-Ground capability is also put a large emphasis on as shown with RSAF being the leading Air-Ground Typhooners as shown by a thread I posted here:

So What is what really it is confusing as the Tornado will also be retired by 2020..... Lots of mysteries are still out there.

It is not partial my friend. AEC makes one part and another company makes the other. We can make thousands of it if we want that is what manufacturing under license means. the problem the OP has pointed out is the license for Paveway IV.

Always at your service my friend. Paveway IV uses both Laser and GPS targeting modes that lets the pilot choose which one before letting go of the bomb such a tech if we get access to means we will have new industrial capabilities. Once you make something under license even if the license is taken away you can make the same exact thing but with a different name and no can say a thing about it because you already have the tech.

I recall the news on CNN when the RSAF F-15 pilot was making victory sign when he landed but that news was only about shooting down an Iraqi Cessna plane.
thats the only kill I was aware of in the first Gulf war that was made by the RSAF.

(bit double minded about celebrating the kill .. it was Iraq )

I can confirm that now because I have read on the web about the 2 Mirage F1s.
those planes are not a joke. specially Iraqi pilots had the decades old combat experience. so well done and respect to RSAF

but I stand by the Cessna kill too. not sure if it was a VIP escort or a recon plane that became the target of the Saudi F-15. I vividly remember the news on CNN and the footage of the pilot landing and being greeted.
I am positive that I am not mixing up the story but if you have full air to air kill score then do share because all I have is a memory of about 20 odd years.

it is ok Irfan every oen forgets things, specially when it is old like 20 years, many iraqi jets were shot down during that war, probably some cessnas got shot as well in another occasion.
