Typhoon, Rafale no match for China’s MMRCA

in China we still believe that people should be proud of something you can make, not something you bought.

Difference between India and China in simple words so that you can understand ...

India buys official product from foreign vendors on full TOT and manufacture them locally in Indian facilities example Su 30-MKI , upcoming MMRCA etc
China makes copies of the very same product right from the scratch by reverse engineering J-10 etc etc

So i dont think there is much difference except the fact that we do it by legally purchasing the rights to TOT ,so dont brag about it !!!

China’s MMRCA is J-10B not J-20

Navy chief Admiral Sureesh Mehta publicly admitted on Monday that India was no match for China and there was no way New Delhi could bridge the yawning gap in its capabilities against China.
He said it would be foolhardy to compare the two nations as equals.

He saw ominous signs everywhere while delivering a talk on India’s national security challenges on Monday. “Whether in terms of GDP, defence spending or any other economic, social or development parameter, the gap between the two is just too wide to bridge (and getting wider by the day).”

We've been making our own weapons for 5 decades, stop bragging for something not there, after you indeginous weapons come out then you can talk about it.

India fears China military 'gap'
06 September 2011
Indian officials and military officers have expressed concern at a widening gap between the country's present and planned military capabilities and those of China, it has been reported.

The defence gap between the world's two most populous countries has created a possible "collusive threat" from China and its ally Pakistan, according to a report in the Financial Times.

The fears were highlighted by the chairman of India's National Security Advisory Board, who described the country's ministry of defence as "dysfunctional" when it came to long-term planning.

"India's strategic interests extend between the Suez and Shanghai … but we have neither the manpower nor the strategic thinking to handle these challenges," K. Shankar Bajpai said.

Retired Lieutenant General PC Katoch echoed those comments, saying: "We have celebrated our 64th independence day, and we still don't have a national security strategy.

"The ministry of defence does not have a set-up for strategic thinking".

There is also a considerable spending gap between the two countries, with research by the Stockholm Institute for Peace Research showing that India's $36bn defence budget is less than a third the size of China's estimated $114bn defence spend.

In August, a US government report expressed concern at the growth of China's military, which is developing indigenous aircraft carrier and stealth jet fighter programmes.

The People's Liberation Army is expected to have a modern, fully capable military by 2020, the US has estimated

Hate to burst your bubble but:

1. China has been able to put what they begin to produce on ground in a matter of couple of years, India goes for decades and even then is unable to put anything on ground.
2. Democracy dictates that all speak their mind. You have 100s of different thoughts on how to do a thing and not one agrees with other, so action is nil. In china you have one thought and you move with that.
3. In India, people who have no idea of defence and technology chair the committees overseeing them comprised of people who further have no clue about what the committee is, as a result you have incompetence from day 1, in china people who know what the thing is about, fight with others who know it maybe better to become better and work more better.

And the list continues.....

India buys official product from foreign vendors on full TOT and manufacture them locally in Indian facilities example Su 30-MKI , upcoming MMRCA etc

Oh that is to get a good cut from all deals. Example is of T-90. A Major General equivalent officer went to insepct the tank in Russia. The Officer was to retire in 02 years. Instead of sending some one who is going to use the equipment for years, we sent someone to enjoy his holiday!!! What a nutty job it is!! Then we got the ERAs and Shtrum defensive systems removed from the tank by paying additionally to avoid the costs of the equipment. Once the tank was inducted, we now took out additional contract for installation of the same again!!! By paying additional costs !!!! Who does that? Only INDIA!!!

China makes copies of the very same product right from the scratch by reverse engineering J-10 etc etc

And they succeeded. We tried and we made INSAS!!! What a piece of crap it is!!!!

@beijingwalker when indian airforce, navy, army wants something they just says 'china ahead'. That benefits our military.... Indian military falling behind day by day? Time for medication?.... Which country top in buying military hardware?.... Wake up. Indian military on upgrade and getting stronger day by day. MMRCA, 5th genration jetfighter, aircraft carrier, apache, p-8i, submarines, nuke submarines, AGNI-5 (that china hate most to hear) etc etc. List is long. The game just started.... India far ahead then china in military technology and we thank west for that. Am waiting for typhoon to be picked in MMRCA (which will be deployed on indo chinese border and ofcourse AGNI-5 test in 3 months.

China already mass produces 4.5 generation fighters, the J-10B. In a few years, we'll be moving to 5th generation, the J-20.

India probably can't decide on which aircraft to choose for MMRCA for few more years.

Indian army depends heavily on purchasing weapons from foreign countries, the country's industry doesnt have the ability to mass produce weapons nor does it has thousands of specialised techincians and specialized workers which is needed.from placing orders to delivery and commissioning foreign weapons and technology may take years.by the time the war would've been long over.China, with its biggest industrial manufaturing ability in the world, can quickly mass produce all kinds of weapons in a very short span of time, can easily overwhelm most enemies in the world.
