Two Nation Theory

not sure y they step in after 100s of ppl die.

gud goin india. u r indeed a truly secular state.

anyway let me only speak for pakistan. the only way of getting rid of this discrimination is by educating ignorant masses which doesnt use its senses when acting. secular or non secular is not the issue and will not solve the problem. the problem lies in the ignorant segment of the society.

u cannot speak only for Pakistan as long as U people have obsession with INDIA:lol: ..if u haven't trained terrorists to make 1000's cuts of INDIA or tried making Afganistan a strategic depth to use against INDIA all these measured have boomeranged on Pak and ur paying a heavy price with daily street bombings and drone raids in the sky..despite being a muslim country

.
yes, i hope so too india will stay like this , as a beacon of democracy and freedom on an island surrounded by ferocious states with dictators and bigots. India should continue to shine a light and path for all those who believe in values such as peace , freedom stability and continue setting the example that it has been over the last few decades.

yes. May india always shine like the way it has been shining 'over the last few decades'

Discussing this theory is useless, its happened. Indians reject it, we have 250 million minorities and those who supported it have left for Pakistan. Everybody happy.

Secondly, all those comments about India's secularism, well most of the secular people call us secular, but most of islamists don't call pakistan islamic. So we will seek a certificate from a non islamic non secular pakistan on our secularism, right after an 'islamic' country seeks pakistan's certificate on being islamic.

ajpirzada:- The last quote is an intentional misquote (words have been changed) to appeal to Islamists (two different versions are floating on the interweb). Consult the following:- http://www.defence.pk/forums/pakist...-bigotry-pakistani-mindset-18.html#post920020

well there might be a problem with that statement but its centre point is very much in line with all other statements quoted.

'on the basis of Shariah or Islamic principles' mean the same thing. secondly anything on the basis of XYZ implies that it will not be in conflict with XYZ. or for something to not be in conflict with XYZ, you need it to be on the basis of XYZ.

clearly he wanted us to be a 'liberal democratic Muslim state'. here muslim or islamic are synonyms of each other. muslim state or islamic state are the same in actual sense. additional two words which are 'liberal democratic' defines the administrative structure.

Ok, first the Ahmadis and now the 2 Nation Theory.

You know what, i am surprised over this sudden surge in these highly 'self-righteous' articles that are being posted at a high rate lately.

Anywaz, coming over to the topic;

The Two-Nation Theory was just a way of negating the misplaced 'truth' that the British india had only one nation. It indeed countered the easily accepted fact that all the inhabitants of the sub-continent were one Nation.

The Two Nation Theory just (strongly) advocated that there were infact, Two distinct Nations residing inside the sub-continent, namely Hindus and Muslims. Furthermore, it also suggested that this 'new' Nation needs a proportional representation in the routine affairs of the country and demanded greater autonomy.

I agree with the views, just to add that India as a country whole ..from Khyber to Down south existed only for 70 odd years ..during Ashoka period, remaining periods were of the provinces fighting with each others.
Thanks to Two nation theory based on Muslims Vs rest of Indians, India could stay united during crucial periods after independence. Other wise Subcontinent is equally ethnically diverse as Europe.

I will not fully blame Pakistani leaders and people for what happened to her. Pakistan as most of the members would agree from day 1 had to part of one side of "Cold war", It chose the west, while India said let us be Non - Alingned (though took some refuge with Soviets).

Pakistan had to open its economy hence could not nurture industries.
Then 4 wars with India dint help either.. it paved way for politicians calling them holy wars with Hindu India, hence i'd say it succumbed to become a Islamic state.
