Two criminals rob a mosque

There have been strong opposition from Indian Muslim leaders whenever there was a talk of 2 children limit. I think south Asia should put 2-3 children limit.
could not agree more. This region should adopt a birth rate of under 2 for atleast 10 years. only then population will come under control.

These donation boxes are legally robbed by the mullah mafia every Friday..just this time the beneficiaries were different..
We people rush to pass judgement however having seen financial position of some of our local mosques in my city due to some reasons... I was thoroughly embarrased to see how little we contribute for Mosques and boast like the biggest donor. Have you seen the state of Imam in our local mosques? He lives in such a poverty that he can hardly afford to buy new clothes for himself.

The source of income for average mosque in the local area is 4 times per month on each Jummah prayer, charity appeal on special ocassions like Ramadan, charity appeal in the neighbourhood door to door when the funds are not available for mosque besides some contributions for teaching children how to read Qur'an but in many places its free

If 100 people come to attend the Friday prayer, 40 of them would donate money. 20 of them will donate 10 rupees and remaining 20 between 20 to 50 rupees. The total collection is around 2000 rupees per Jummah prayer and even if they manage to collect 10,000 rupees which is far exaggerated and only applicable for bigger mosques... start counting the electricity bill of the Mosque which often have generators installed in it for load shedding purposes as they often have to offer Azan on loudspeakers, the monthly salary of Imam and necessary repair work here n there. In most mosques the state of the mosque is below poverty and its Imam responsible to lead prayers is left with zakat and khairat of neighbourhood who would give free clothes upon the death of their family member thinking it as a good deed (sawab) and forget about him soon after. The imam is called for Khatam durood and taunted for eating food and we people do not even realise if he had enough food at home to feed his children or not

Please dont give incorrect information about Islam. Zakat is not charity. It is type of tax on those who can afford it and it is right of under privilege to receive it. Charity is Sadqa and Khairat.

Dont quote me dictionary which has been compiled by some western publisher. Quote me from Quran which makes Zakat obligatory for those who are eligible and defines eligibility criterion. superficialness of this dictionary is evident through the definition "certain kinds of property" . Zakat is on the savings or assets which remains unused for whole year.

Your definition from the dictionary is incomplete

When everyone is supposed to give Zakat, than who is the recipient?

There is a minimum threshold, after which it becomes obligatory. It is not applicable on everyone. Only those who can afford it. For Sunni's across the board.

No. not required to pay anything to the mosque, but people do it as most mosques are built by community and they voluntarily pay donations to meet running expenses.

Offtopic: Are you guys required by Islam to pay tithe or a certain portion of your income to the mosque? Does everybody commonly do it?

An average mosque in the local area manages to collect funds 4 times on each Jummah prayer on top of little contributions of financial assistance for teaching children how to read Qur'an... and many places its free and charity appeal on special ocassions like Ramadan and collection from neighbourhood when funds of mosque are below the expenses.

I do agree to your financial analysis of mosque accounts. Who is to be blamed us. We spend millions on professional education of our children and pay few rupees for eternal education. It is because our community decided to make those as imam masjid who were not fit to lead the prayers. In Islam there is no concept of clergy. Prayers are to be led by the notables of area. It is mandatory that the person who leads the prayer is Aqil, Baligh, Fair, truthful, etc. He does not have to be Hafiz e Quran to lead prayers. He has to be intelligent, knowledgeable, honest, truthful and prominent personality of the area. A person who is known to be Adil and should not be Fasiq It is due to this reason Holy Prophet and Khulafa led the prayers themselves. Practically, prayers should be lead by President, Prime Minister, Governor, Chief Minsiter, etc etc etc or for that matter Nazim of the area or Commissioner (provided they are eligible , but they aren't). But we have left the most important thing of our life to those who know nothing about it. Just imagine that a fatwa was given about loud speaker, when it first came to sub-continent, that it is voice of devil. When the first man landed on moon it was declared Kufr by molvis.

Second reason our religion is in shambles because every street has its mosque and sometimes more than one. To the extent that mosques have been built on usurped lands. Just imagine a religious place of gather of a religion which declares prayers to be invalid if performed on usurped land. Islam is stringent to the extent that you cannot offer prayers in a house, where you are a guest, without permission of host. And trumpeters of that religion build mosques on usurped land. If you happen to be in Karachi look at master plan of city and visit the land allocated for parks. See what has happened with a number of those.

I fully agree that mosques should be maintained and people of community should contribute to do that. If you cannot maintain the mosque exactly in the way you maintain your house and of the status which you enjoy then dont build those mosque and let those handle these affairs who can handle that. If we do not respect our religion no one else would do that. Look at Mandirs, Churches, Synagogues, etc. How those are maintained. If you have visited UAE (well I may have many reservations about them @Khafee) but fact is that they have given respect to the mosque. Mosques match their skyline status and that is how it should be.

I do agree with you Sir and share the same concerns as you have highlighted

The Qur’an mentions eight groups of people on who Zakat should be spent:

(Surat At-Tawbah 9:60)

  1. The Fuqara’ (the poor)
  2. Al-Maskin (the needy)
  3. Aamileen (Zakat collector)
  4. Muallafatul Quloob (poor and needy who recently converted to Islam)
  5. Ar-Riqaab (slaves; Zakat can be used to purchase their freedom)
  6. Ibnus-Sabeel: A stranded traveller in need of financial assistance.
  7. Al Ghaarimeen: A debtor
  8. Fi Sabeelillah: Those who are away from home in the path of Allah

khuda nai vastay pakistani people would never invest in things that will help them in life or future. i give you an example you suggest to your family or relatives to buy a good quality of water filter around about to 20 to 50 quid which is going to help them drink good clean quality water when they go abroad like pakistan but the fuking conjuse bas trds.
i get so annoyed and angry they cant even buy decent flashlight but then they ask for yours to borrow. if you have shop you must give discount even though they never ever bought anything from you and this is your living.

anyway one of our so called imam at the mosque, remortgaged the mosque and took a huge loan and rumour is he bought a house and he also own a pub converted to a house. before he got his license he would drive without license and insurance.

down our town some idiot pakistanis will do anything for fame and fortune. they have taken over the mosque and turned it into elite club. They cant read and write yet they want to be chief.

This is true of children too, the brightest go to study Sciences and the dumbest gets to become a mullah. The well off families (mostly) push their children to study sciences and medicine and never religion.

my friend this is all money game. it is them who are maligning Islam. Let me ask you why Molvi Tariq Jameel (Molana is reserved for the Almight) does not stay in the company of poor or visit poor people. Why he is more happy converting Veena Malik to Islam and preaching to rich people only?
Maulana Taqriq Jameel spend a great time with common followers, they also help many poor families of their village who cant support the financial of burden of their own. As now their are millions of people who love him from every corner of the world, so this is obvious that he cant give time to every one. It is us who notice only when he meet some celebrity. And also their is special Hikmah in these meetings, Deen of ALLAH swt is reaching to the people who were previously ignored by religious class. And it is a great step for encouragement and betterment of every Muslim.

These donation boxes are legally robbed by the mullah mafia every Friday..just this time the beneficiaries were different..

And their is no game of money, all my life I have hardly scene any Imam of Masjid living a better life than other member of his neighborhood. Most of the Imam dont even afford to buy good clothes for his kids at eid and yet they spend honestly for the improvement of facility at the mosques.

.
I hope all those who constantly wail and point fingers at Pakistan for not protecting minorities will remember this bad incident as an example that the poor law & order situation in this country has affected everyone equally, no matter which religion or sect you belong to.
