I feel like a new city should be built somewhere in between Xi'an, Kaifeng and Luoyang if they find Biejing too crowded to serve as capital.

Beijing can just focus on the political function.
Beijing is too crowded because it is also centres for education, commerce, high-tech, medicine, transport......

Nanjing is so underrated as a cultural hub.
It is always shadowed by nearby cities like Suzhou/Hangzhou culturally, and Wuxi/Suzhou/Shanghai economically.
Unfair for a capital of 6 dynasties!

For almost a thousand years that almost all major Chinese historical events had something to do with Beijing, how many of them had anything to do with Shenzhen?

The future has things to do with Shenzhen!!!

In terms of education, medicine, culture, etc., Shenzhen is worse than many second-tier cities.
Economy is easy to be created, but not the soft aspects.

Yes,Beijing Univesity get 10 billions RMB,Qinghua University get 15 billions RMB from Central gov while Shenzhen university only 4.5 billions RMB.
Sure Beijing is more soft.

That is not soft power that is financial support,Peking university should bo better,other wise it is not derserved so much money!
