As usual, you have Bilal (of three decades lead in smart manufacturing fame) dissing Indian researchers...
@Nilgiri
The fact is that India is home to the world's cheapest Ph.D's and they have a lot of them. These are the type of rubber-chappal wearing high-water pants loser Ph.D's that supplement their income by odd jobs of various types, like keeping up the books at retail stores. This is also the reason that GE and Microsoft have set up shop in India to get cheap patent work done, mostly in Chennai and Bangalore. Thank God these companies came to India otherwise these Ph.D's wouldn't have a job.....
PhDs working in retail shops & more Bilal-ish fantasies...
And it's quite ironical to see Bangladeshis dissing India for supposedly cheap PhDs, given that their economic 'success' comes from incredibly cheap RMG manufacturing- labourers working 14 hours a day at 20 cents an hour in unsafe sweatshops. But diss India for cheap PhDs..
PhDs must be much much cheaper in Bangladesh, no ?
But you don't have many PhDs, heck
you don't have skilled graduates to manage even your low tech garment industry (source: your own UGC chairman), let alone work in an aerospace R&D center.
Anyway more about Indian R&D
According to a new study by consulting firm Zinnov, out of $31 billion which was spent globally on Engineering related R&D, India alone accounted for $12.3 billion. This means that 40% of global budget on such high end R&D were spent in India in activities such as establishing R&D centers, hiring top scientists in this niche, and outsourcing engineering research projects into India. This is a steady increase of 8.3% compared to last year.

AMD started its hardware design team in Hyderabad in mid-2008 following an acquisition and it now accounts for almost 50-60 % of the physical design work for the firm including high-end graphic design.
To boot, Intel's India centre has designed the global major's first six-core x86 microprocessor, the Xeon 7400 series. The team had planned and executed end-to-end design including frontend design, pre-silicon logic validation and back-end design.
Concludes Biswadip Mitra, MD, TI India, which has had a research centre in Bangalore since 1985: "The TI analog front end semiconductor devices (AFE) is a chip family whose development was largely carried out by engineers in TI India. Today, there is hardly any TI chip that is not touched by engineers at TI India."

And then there are patents granted by USPTO...
3355 vs 2...nuff said

So rubber chappal wearing Indian PhDs >>> Bangladeshi American who boasts about '300 taka tea'.
Quality of Indian research cannot be differentiated from either Pakistani research or Bangladeshi research, unless you look at amount of funding offered, mostly from MoD.
Sure !!!
The H-index of published research says a lot about 'quality' of your 'research' compared to Indian one.
The truth becomes crystal clear when you look at their defense stuff and look at how many duds they have produced compared to even middling Asian countries (very few successes in any case)...
Kaveri engine - non starter after two decades. Probably never will see the light of day.
Tejas fighter - effed up under-sized sub-par design - can't carry enough munitions and can't get into production after three decades.
Arjun MBT - effed up over-sized sub-par design- can't get into production after three decades as well. Bring that thing to our terrain, I want to see how it does.
Nice obfuscation there...Just FYI LCA is already in serial production & squadron service.
And you carefully left out...
Missile program- both strategic & tactical systems.
Warships & nuclear subs
EW systems (land based, airborne & naval)
Radars (from land based to AEW&C)
Sonars
C4I systems
All developed in India and inducted into service. But hey, it doesn't fit your narrative right ?
Show me one middling Asian country which have developed it's own turbofan engine & put it into service. Even China is having problems..

Kaveri is in active development for the UCAV program. I hope BD can develop a motorcycle engine by the time it is operational..
The only success (if you can call it that) they ever had was the space projects, but those are 'showboat' projects meant to dupe Sanghi vote banks, and which can't benefit their populace in perpetual poverty (worse than sub-Saharan Africa).
Sure...the 'only success if you can call it that'
Ever heard of Indian nuclear program, kid?... I'm sure you have, I clearly remember you whining when I told you that India was ahead of your new sugar daddy-China- in fast reactor technology.
What else can you expect from a bunch of LDC cheerleaders ?
And sure, what good can a space/ nuclear program do for a country ?
Hey wait a minute, how much are you paying for rooppur NPP & Bang-a-bandhu satellite again ?
Yeah they are good enough to dupe low HDI LDC swamp-dwellers & to create an illusion of development which comes at exorbitant costs...
