Twitter suspends FO spokesperson's handle ‘on India's complaint’

Personal Twitter account (@DrMFaisal) of Dr Muhammad Faisal, the chief spokesperson of Foreign Office has been suspended for keeping his social media followers updated regarding Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and ICJ hearing on Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Dr Faisal also uses @ForeignOfficePK Twitter handle to reach out to his followers on the micro-blogging website.

The development comes while the FO spokesperson was present in The Hague, where the International Court of Justice is hearing a four-day hearing, which begun on Monday, of the case of self-confessed RAW agent Commander Jadhav, who was convicted of espionage by a Pakistani military court and sentenced to death in April 2017.

According to reports, the FO spokesperson’s account (@DrMFaisal) on the micro-blogging site was suspended after some of his tweets “were reported to Twitter by the Indian government”.

Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson’s Twitter account suspended on ‘Indian complaint’

Twitter has suspended personal Twitter account of Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson apparently on Indian request.

According to sources, the Twitter has suspended the account of Dr Faisal reportedly over his efforts to highlight Indian atrocities against the innocent Kashmiris.

They said that Indian authorities had launched a complaint with the US-based company regarding Dr Mohammad Faisal posts exposing New Delhi’s highhandedness in the occupied territory.

Faisal was very active on social media and kept updating his followers on the Kulbhushan Jadhav case being heard at the International Court of Justice.
