TVS Motors to assemble vehicles in Bangladesh, ties up with state-owned co

160cc will ensure you live longer, though. Why doesn't the government allow bigger bikes, with high taxes and duties?
Suddenly our govt decided to do what’s good for the environment... (the officials themselves are exempt from these laws though) and tax on cars often reach 800% the value of the car... its a unsustainable system tbh.
You’ll have to shell out the price of a rolls Royce phantom for a land cruiser, unless you’re an MP... or have proper people to bribe and forge genuine documents

Only in India do they call a two-wheeler a 'vehicle'.

Only in Bangladesh is utter fecal matter in the cranium called brains.

Something to do with the environment more than anything...
Doesn’t apply to ministers with their land cruisers though, they niggas buy tax free too... without tax about 78 lake for a full option land cruiser but with tax for average citizens 4.5 crore

I say **** that... I am buying my car in Kuwait... tax free baby ;)

Same approach to stop real industry from coming to BD as well. They can't get enough of their cut from it and it will threaten the existing chaddi-weaving scams (labour groups bought off and sleaze streams guaranteed).

But still it is a major kanjoosi attitude (being cheap to level of enforced cheapness/groupthink on whole society, not just yourself) that puts even regular kanjoosis to real shame.

Actually, bigger bikes aren't really bad for the environment- since due to high operating costs and low volume of sale, they are hardly ever seen on the roads(for regular commutes). Plus, I get much better efficiency than most cars on my 800 cc kawasaki.

Noice, my friends from India have 300cc KTM... reported to be awesome... I’m not a bike person myself
I don’t why why people in bd wouldn’t buy if the market restrictions are lifted...
I’ve seen illegal underground racing hosted in some parts of Dhaka and most are comparatively underpowered Japanese modifies racers from the 80... but if bd relaxes the stupid tax laws... expect every 20 something yo to drive around in a GTR

If its environment related excuse, its stupid....because efficiency relates to the torque profiles you employ for the vehicle (be it a massive truck to a tiny moped).

The larger the engine (and assuming vehicle is designed ok to use the output), the better it is for efficiency (holding everything the same) if you have a high torque regime (either hauling a lot or doing lot of city style stop and go, stop and go etc).

It is why I got much better gas mileage on my chevy silverado compared to the ford ranger i had some time back.

The best environment policy is to restrict traffic in dense city centres to begin with and have good public transport....rather than cut based on engine size....I mean if its engine argument, it should be engine age + base engine efficiency than anything else....not raw size/output which is a very complex variable w.r.t pollution/efficiency.

@Nilgiri why doesn’t Walton open up a manufacturing plant?

For that analysis I will need to see a up to date financial release from Walton :coffee:....

its coming up to 3 years now? :sarcastic:@Ashes @Michael Corleone @BDforever

Well hybrid is the talk of the town now and they think these vehicles are environmentally friendly... while in reality it’s actually more toxic to produce these than the regular gas guzzlers

too right buddy. If yer ever in Canada, I can take you on road trip to see Sudbury (of course among other more pleasant places) to see what the battery demand of world has done to that place....right bang in the middle of beautiful mother nature that was once right around it. Its just saddening and sickening at same time (it is like 50% of the world's source for quality Nickel). That place (and larger area around it too) will never be the same for thousands of years or more after they stop this chit.
