Well, Learning how To Make an Aircraft is way too better advancement than reverse engineering , By reverse engineering He/she is not broadening his/her world But only narrowing it to that Single product which is getting reverse Engineered...

but an advancement in the field of Such sophisticated technologies can only be Done through proper Channels, that is learn it from depth , Go loose and Explore the vital Technologies, learn it, Get help from those experienced In the field and Pave your way ahead....

We Are broadening our Vision by learning it from basics....And It will give result very soon.... So India is doing a right job by R&D, no matter how much criticism we might have to face, this vision must sustain... The world will look through us one day, That day will be all ours, till then lets just stand and Allow some Intellectual people to criticize us

i agree, so we shouldn't use loaded words like "cheating". you are learning it from a teacher, like taking a class, that's a great way to learn. we're trying to learn from the book alone. no one is cheating.

Sir please forgive me If I ever used a term cheating....... to the thread starter... Never try to open a thread which hurts the emotions badly, Mods please rename it to, is reverse engineering better or learning from deep... that would be a debatable topic, but cheating is a very harsh and Un applicable term In here.... Chinese are learning it , if the stuffs have patents and Chinese reverse engineer it, its called copying, chinese have never attempted to reverse engineer those things which have patents... So its not a good term to be used...

Without reverse engineering China would have to depend on the Russians and only the Russians. India can develop its own fighters without reverse engineering because it can get help from whoever it asks, but can China do the same?

for centuries India was divided into several parts... ruled by different kings and empires.... many invaders came to our country.... pillaged and went away.... some stayed...... they mixed in the locals and evolved into what you can see as Indian Culture today.....

as a result of above mixing and division we developed many languages.....
under the british empire....India was somewhat united..... we learned English as a consequence of that....
also you will see south Indian people and north eastern indians find it easier to learn english then hindi.........

we are proud of our language Hindi but we dont impose it on people..... we let them choose whatever they are comfortable in....


PS: i m trying to improve my sentence framing..... it sucks 2 the core.... lack of practice :( :undecided:

its like this, i mean, if we want to insult india, we'd say that india's "buying the answers". but thats not it, because indian scientists are actually trying to learn the Su-30 for themselves.

you know why middle eastern countries keep losing to israel even with the best in american/russian gear and a much larger population? because they're actually "buying the answers" for the homework and then flunking the test (war).

i'm confident india is much superior to arab dictatorships, and not just buying answers but actually learning. a different style of learning than us and a slower pace, but its still learning.

despite india's problems its still one of the 4 continent sized countries that don't play by their own special rules.

@the chinese members please help me to clarify my doubts
1.Does the chinese law allows chinese companies to violate international copyright laws?Like in making copies of international brands,mobile phones,cars and other consumer products..Is it legal in china for a local manufacturer to produce fake copy of..say a cartier sun glass?
2.Is the law same regarding the chinese companies?Can a chinese company produce a fake copy of another popular brand?Is it legal there?
3.Regarding the purchase of milary equipments with end user agreement.When china signs eula it promises not to copy the technology.Is it legal in china to override an end user agreement signed by itself and copy the technology?
I an not doubting the capability of china but the legality of these issues in china.


All the international markets including that of US are flooded with Chinese goods. Now if they have violated any copy rights then the countries concerned would have taken legal action.

Again the bottom line is that Chinese dint copy anything from India as there none to be copied :P

......I didnt said you are no proud of your language, my point of my previous post is the countries in the world copied and are copying each other, and this is one of the most important reason of that humanbeing can progress so fast, we stand on the shoulders of the giant, we have thousands years accumulation of knowlege which are given by ancestor.

1. reverse engineering isn't stealing, that's complete BS.

2.are you saying if you take a physics class, and there's no teacher but you have the book, your knowledge is stolen and fake if you read the book yourself, but your knowledge is good and great if the teacher teachs you?

3.we can't even buy the books (the technology samples) in this case. we have to scavange for them, but once we bought a few books in the past, we applied what we learned in those books and wrote books of ourselves. No teacher was there to teach us all this time.

4.In china, independent students like that are respected by the public, dunno about india.

1. Reverse engineering isnt cheating provided it is done with a proper agreement with the party who owns the original thing. Else its stealing.period.

2. Reading the book and acquiring knowledge is great if you haven't stolen the books or got the books through wrong channels.

3. If you scavange for books using wrong methods ala spying and then come up with something then that will be cheating/stealing. Did the books you stole had an EULA attached to them? In most cases yes, they aint there to be reverse engineered.

4. Whether be it whatever part of world, hardworking and honest students are always praised. Those who cheat are frowned upon no matter how high they score.

At last , some people find the word cheating and stealing as offensive but I am sorry the activity for me is suitably described by those.

Also no one took offense when I compared India with a kid in a primary school taking basic tutions. Why so?( I think the description is apt.)
