I don't think Nixon was uncouth. The reason why Watergate was allowed to happen was that Nixon was fed up with and wanted to stop the billions of dollars america was funding Israel each year. He wanted to use those funds to uplift the people of the same background as him, namely White working class americans. He didn't want anything to do with Israel or the Middle East. However, Nixon was a racist and did not particularly like Blacks, Jews or indians. In the Watergate tapes, him and Ronald Regan can be heard to be making disparaging racist remarks against all three ethnic groups listed above.

Indira Gandhi was elected to lead India, to pursue Indian National and international interests. She scored A+ on international and C on national interests. At the end of the day, she served her purpose and people, and won us a few victories as a nation.
this was not a beauty contest.For that we have a different set of women who qualify (Read Sushmita Sen).
Nixon is not incorrect in his assessment of her beauty, but Nixon himself is in no position to comment on beauty and looks to begin with.
Point is, she did her job and did so with efficiency and a will power I haven’t seen from other Indian male PMs on the international arena.
Some women have more balls than men, Indira Gandhi fits that bill and should be commended for it. Where she fucked up (on the domestic politics), she should be criticized.
