Turkiye's first security program to be completed

The government has taken action against an increasing number of cyber attacks on many state institutions and organizations by preparing a computer security program, a first in Turkey.

According to the Habertürk daily, the program, named “Savungan,” is being written by a team headed by Melih Abdulhayoğlu, the CEO of one of the world's leading security software companies, Comodo. Abdulhayoğlu stated that they have many projects for Turkey's cyber security systems and that they have opened a research and development (R&D) office at Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) to further develop the program.

The security program will be in use in the country within the year. With this security program, Turkey has become the ninth country to write its own security program after developed countries such as the UK, the Netherlands and the US.

According to the announcement at the web site of the Turkey's General Staff, "General Staff Warfare and Cyber Defense Command" unit was established in 2012 to protect its data against cyber attacks.

It was said that the TSK expands its warfare capabilities in cyber space along with its other operation areas; land, naval, air and aerospace.
The unit will be in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and NATO in both national and international missions.

Anti virüs şirketi Kaspersky , beş yıldır 69 ülkede kamu, askeri, enerji kurumlarıyla elçiliklerden bilgi sızdıran siber casusluk operasyonunun varlığını açıkladı. Kızıl Ekim adı verilen operasyonda Türkiye dört kez hedef oldu. Biri yabancı elçilik, diğer üçüyle ilgili her hangi bir tanımlama yok.

HaberTürk Gazetesi'nin haberine göre, Rusya merkezli dünyanın önde gelen anti virüs yazılım şirketlerinden Kaspersky, 69 ülkede en az 5 yıldır kamu kuruluşları, askeri üsler ve enerji enerji tesisleri ile elçiliklerinden bilgi çalan siber casusluk operasyonu ortaya çıkardığını açıkladı. Operasyona 'Kızıl Ekim' adını veren şirket, bulduğu verileri topladığı araştırma raporunu sitesinde yayımladı. Rapora göre Türkiye'de 4 kurum veya kuruluş Kızıl Ekim'in hedefi oldu. Bunlardan birinin yabancı bir elçilik olduğu belirtilirken, diğer üçüne dair tanımlayıcı bilgi verilmedi.

Şirket, Kızıl Ekim'i kimlerin yürüttüğünü veya arkasında bir devlet olup olmadığını tespit edemedi. Ancak kurumlara sızmak için kullanılan programlama dillerinden Kızıl Ekim'in arkasında Çinli ve Rus hackerlar olduğu sonucuna vardı. Çalınan bilgiler ve sistemlerine sızılan kurumların listesini elinde bulunduran Kaspersky, bunları kamuoyu ile paylaşmayacağını bildirdi. Kızıl Ekim'in arkasında bir devlet olup olmadığı belirlenemese de çalınan bilgilerin devletlerin ilgisini çekebilecek türden olduğu kaydedildi.

Kızıl Ekim'in arkasındakilerin benzeri sanal casusluk faaliyetlerinde kullanılanlardan daha ileri yazılımlar ve sistemler kullanıldığı ifade edilen raporda, sisteme sızıldığı an USB cihazları, harici bellekler ve iPhone, Nokia, Windows Mobile telefonlardan bile bilgi sızdırabildikleri belirtildi. Bu arada sızmaların dünyanın dört bir yanında olmakla birlikte ağırlıkla eski Doğu Bloku ülkeleri ve Orta Asya Cumhuriyetleri'nde yaşandığı ortaya çıktı. Rusya, Kazakistan ve Azerbaycan Kızıl Ekim'in en fazla kuruma sızdığı ülkeler olduğu belirlendi.
